     King Bluff

Current king of the mountain and host of the tournament. His body is as old as the mountain itself, but has the body and mind of a 12-year-old.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Gray skinned.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: His invitation letter pretty much tells everyone who get it all they need to know about him. Many can't even take him seriously, and are skeptical of the tournament because of his childish attitude.

     Clancy and Talift 
Artist: Razzifur

A ranger of the mountain, with his tiger/lion beast. He is responsible for the welfare of the wildlife living on the mountain.

     Prosa

A reclusive female lumberjack who lives near the mountain.

     Cliff

A satyr who lives on the mountain, looking out for its inhabitants, including the king (albeit begrudgingly).
  • Only Sane Man: Many of the auditions portray him as this since he feels Bluff is attracting a lot of unwanted attention to the mountain, some of it even dangerous.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Can turn into a regular mountain goat to scale the mountain easier.

     Aiden

A Cernunnos (fauns without the deer nose or hooves) that was orphaned at a young age and wound up stuck as a busboy at a inn while his two brothers went on to become legends. At the beginning of his audition, he's fired for lateness and making a scene over a deer trophy. He swiped one of Bluff's invitations off a customer and figured he might as well try his luck.

     Ann

A modern day girl who took up witchcraft and past a year of training. After accidentally transporting herself above the mountain after getting Bluff's invitation, she figures she might as well put her skills to the test.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: In her audition, she tried to use her magic to make a sentient rock to have someone to talk to as she started climbing. It didn't seem to work, but when she put it with other rocks, it suddenly gained a body...and wasn't happy with her for giving it life either.
  • Cute Witch: A very lovely looking girl.
  • Functional Magic: Doesn't always seem to work as intended but it does. Her main ability is to transform objects into other object, usually depending on the mass of it (for example, changing a fridge into 800 frisbees).

     Aethis

A gryphon: the only one who decided to leave their home, in an attempt to save their race and their self.
  • Aura Vision: One of their powers is the ability to sense magic.
  • Last of Their Kind: Trying to prevent this. Their home is running out of magic and their race has resigned itself to its fate, save for them.
  • Our Gryphons Are Different: Can use magic, for one. Also able to talk telepathically.

     Alpherius

A demon who's possessing the body of a man who made a deal with. He joins the climb after receiving the invite and finding it interesting.
  • Demonic Possession: Not a main ability but comes to the climb in the body of a man who's soul he has taken. He can also do this to anyone who makes a contract with him.
  • Holy Burns Evil: Well he is a demon so it's not surprising.
  • Playing with Fire: One of his powers.
  • Living Shadow: Can make himself into one, but mostly just used as a scare tactic.

     Auchnein S. 
Artist: Axolmotl

An old robot with a magical core who was enjoying his time drifting through space until he accidentally floated into a portal which lead him to the land where the mountain was. Wanting to get back to his "vacation" upon receiving the invite, he figures he might as well join in.
  • Tempting Fate: Laments his peaceful days drifting through space and then sudden portal and he finds himself involved in a tournament.

     Baba & Yaga 
Artist: Cabtoonist

A girl and her grandmother, both witches, who climb the mountain intrigued by the idea of a wish, mostly as a way to get their bills paid.
  • Action Girl: Yaga somewhat. The second entry shows she can be one given the right circumstances.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Yaga due to her witch blood. Baba had it too when she was younger but it apparently faded into a normal skin color over time.*
  • Brought Down to Normal: Baba who's advanced age has depleted her magic. She can still fight physically however.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Flat out stated in their bio that Yaga is one.
  • Cute Witch: Yaga. Baba as well when she reverts to her younger self.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Baba who's trying to leave behind her days as a legitimate Wicked Witch and be a loving grandmother to Yaga.
  • I Was Quite a Looker: Baba certainly was when she was younger. She can even revert to for ten minutes thanks to her strong water.
  • Never Mess with Granny: Baba can still kick some butt despite no longer having magical power in her old age. Least as long as she has her staff.
  • Not Herself: Baba states that, while her Strong Juice reverts her age and gives her a power boost, it likewise robs her of her current morality and can be hard to control herself until it wears off after ten minutes. As such, she only uses it as a last resort if things get too desperate.
  • Pointy Ears: Baba has them though oddly Yaga doesn't despite being her granddaughter.
  • The Dreaded: Baba was one back in her younger days. Committing many atrocities for the sake of her power.
  • You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry!: Baba is pretty chill for the most part, but if her granddaughter is threatened, she won't hesitate to start getting rough. Likewise Yaga can be this if her grandmother is threatened.

     Claudia & Megasoma

An alien being called a Bellado and her somewhat sentient magical powered mecha. They're sucked into the world where the mountain lies after they get an e-mail invitation from Bluff. Seeing it's the only way back as well as a possible means to end the energy crisis on their world, Claudia decides to join the climb.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Claudia as she quite capable of using scraps of tech to fashion them into for something, such as bombs.
  • Magitek: How Megasoma pretty much operates, on magic and technology.
  • Mini-Mecha: Megasoma is one for Claudia, pretty big but no bigger then a car really.
  • Pointy Ears: Claudia's species has these.
  • She Is the King: Ultimately becomes Claudia's goal to become the new king so that she can save her world.

     Darrian & Shine

Shine's Ref
Living statues that wield the power of pollution and abnormal heat magic respectfully which, when combined, can cause a major catastrophe. The thing is though they seem to be attracted to each other and, after warping away from the underground they once lived upon meeting each other for the first time, can feel each others presence on the mountain despite being on opposite sides. They have no desire for the wish prize, just that they find each other again.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Neither are very malicious but their powers make it tough to really interact with anyone.
    • Subverted in a later entry when they begin to give into their more destructive instincts and purposefully start harming people.
  • Evil Feels Good: Shine in the second entry start falling into this when she unwittingly burns a climber that hugs her and finds that she took pleasure in it.
  • Love at First Sight: When the two first laid eyes on each other the first time, their instincts pretty much told them they were made for each other.
  • Playing with Fire: Shine is able to do this. She doesn't have the best control over it however.
  • Never the Selves Shall Meet: A non-time traveler example. Their bio makes it clear that they should never, ever meet each other again or something disastrous will happen.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: Darrian eventually can't hold back his instinct anymore and decides that he'll start "properly using his powers" if he can't see Shine.
  • Walking Wasteland: Darrian's main ability. He can't interact with people for very long due to this. Heck in his audition, one unfortunate bar patron tried to punch him and ended up with most of his hand skinned to the bone.

     Dexter

     Dr. Lyssa

A world class bio-engineer and dimensional physicist who was studying the mountains wildlife and what effects his serums have on it. He got on the bad side of a mother frog when he threatened her young and wound up smacked into a lake, losing both his research and supplies. While initially not interested in joining the tournament, he reluctantly resigns himself to the climb to get his stuff back.
  • A Twinkle in the Sky: A Running Gag of his. It happens in the middle of his audition entry which got him stuck in the competition in the first place and again in his entry in the fight against Thayar via Millena's house.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: He's a bit...off, to say the least.
  • Mad Scientist: He was doing...something to the wildlife and judging from his dialogue it won't be pleasant.
  • Resigned to the Call: He knew about the tournament but wanted no part of it. However Clancy eventually manages to coax him into it.
  • The Faceless: Wears a mask over his real face, though it is rather expressive in some cases.

     Ezekiel

A young child possessed by dragon spirits who were killed by their cruel king. They took them into themself, hoping to find a way to bring them back to the earth they belong to, and give them peace. They weren't interested in the invitation at first, but the dragon spirits saw it as an opportunity and forced them to comply.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: In his audition, the dragon spirits inside him practically force him to join the tournament while he's asleep after hearing what the invitation said.
  • Demonic Possession: A willing case, he let dragon spirits posses him in order to help them find peace.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: Introduced in his audition hunting a rabbit before changing back completely naked.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Due the dragon spirits in him, he can change a part of himself into a dragon (called "channeling") or into a dragon itself (called "mounting"). However the latter comes at a risk of corrupting the dragon that takes over and causes them to go berserk, making it harder to regain control.

     Forced Wanderer

A unnamed, undead warrior who is forced to do tasks against its will by an unknown force. Naturally, said force directed it to the mountain to compete in King Bluff's contest.

     Ginela & Brooke

A female vampire lord and a former monster hunter, once former enemies now friends, climbing the mountain on behalf on their world's monster queen to find out if Bluff's claim of a wish is true or not (Well Ginela volunteered to do it, she just dragged Brooke along for some "girl time").
  • The Atoner: Ginela is trying to do this after her host helped her reform.
  • Aura Vision: Brooke has an ability call Aura Eye which allows her to sense the energies of her opponents.
  • Battle Aura: Brooke when she really goes all out thanks to her ki.
  • Casting a Shadow: Ginela's power which allows her to make any body part into a shadow and morph it into a weapon.
  • Daywalking Vampire: Ginela, her bio states this was always the case with vampires, media depiction just erased this fact for their fiction. The only ill side effects is that their powers are not as strong as it they are at night.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Ginela has become one since reforming. She still likes to mess with people but never to the point of harm (unless you tic her off that is).

     Harja

An lion-like idol with a portion of a god's power, created by a mage long ago and now currently under the command of her relatives. Harja receives the invitation in their offering bowl, and decides to go thinking that their current master would want the prize... though they are also considering using the wish to find out where their former master is.

     Ilano & Major Cyterian

Two aliens army officers who intercepted King Bluff's invitation originally intended for an enemy to their people. Thus they're given mission to go to Earth where the mountain lies to see if the wish is real or not...and to get their ship repaired after Milena shot them down just as they were arriving into the area.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Ilano may come off as childish but she can be quite competent when she gets serious.
  • Cyclops: Ilano is shown to have only one eye. Her species is even called Cycloids.
  • Cyborg: The second round entry revealed that Cyterian is one. Having lost most of her original body in an attack by Surge.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Ilano rather not fight if she can help it and is willing to make friends with people.
  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: The both of them are definitely cute lookers.
  • Human Aliens: Cyterian certainly looks human but the bio makes it clear she isn't.
  • Mega Manning: Iiano's main ability, she can "copy and paste" someone's powers and uses them as her own. The problem however is that if she holds onto the power longer then normal it'll become too potent and she'll lose control. She likewise can't control powers of the Ominversal Presence. The two times she tried, it started warping her body into a monster.
  • Revenge: Cyterian's true goal against Surge. As she was responsible for the death of her sister. So much so that she faked a mission report just to get Ilano to help her.
  • Robotic Reveal: Cryterian after she's hit by a fire attack that burns away her clothes, showcasing her partially robotic body.

     Kamara & Nepthys

A pair of Nightmare Hunters who get wind of the contest when Prose gives them a invitation to it. Kamara, intrigued at the potential thrill of it, decides to join much to the reluctance of her partner, Nepthys.

     Lex & Muse

Muse's Ref
A goblin interested in gadgetry and her creation, a robot like being with a bomb for a head. Lex wound up on the mountain after she was spared from the frenzy her kind go into during a certain night, causing them to fight each other. She decided to join the climb as it sounded interesting since she's never explored outside her village, bringing Muse along for the ride.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Muse loses one of his arms when a bomb is kicked toward Lex and him during the "Frenzy".
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Lex on the night of "Frenzy" along with the rest of her people which causes them to fight each other.
  • Cute Monster Girl: Lex certainly is one for a goblin.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Lex is an inventor and opened a shop in her village though most of her kind don't really find much of a use for her inventions. When actually on the mountain, she manages to make a stun gun entirely from scrap.
  • Jumped at the Call: Cliff tries to tell her to stay in the cave after he finds her on the mountain, but she pretty much say "nuts to that" and follows after him.
  • Pointy Ears: Lex has some pretty big ones.

     The Mecha King

An obnoxious king named Mudball of a race called the Majectic Nom located within a mini-golf course of an amusement park, who commands a human sized mecha. He joins the climb after seeing the invitation from King Bluff as a challenge to his rule. He's joined by his wizard, Malpheus.
  • Mini-Mecha: Mudball pilots a humans shaped one for his fight. It also doubles as his castle.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Mudball thanks he a major king despite his "kingdom" being nothing more than a putt putt golf course. In the grand scheme of things, he's just a major small fry with a huge opinion of himself.

     Mikaelos

A normal human soldier who's suffering from PTSD following a war he fought in when he was younger and now aimlessly wandering from one area to the next with no purpose in life. He joins the climb, not for the wish, but to see if it's a place he can die.
  • Death Seeker: Feels he has nothing to live for and wants to find a place that could potentially kill him.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: His bio mentioned his country was at war when he was younger and he wanted to do his part, joining the army. But due to being raised in an abbey, he was unprepared for the hardships that came with war and what's worse, his side didn't even win. By the time he was released from duty, he was a shell of his former self.

     Miyo & E-go 
Artist: The-Common-Commander

An adventurer and her anthropomorphic Fennec Fox friend/bodyguard who come to the mountain when the latter is intrigued by the wish prize...and then they quickly lose their belongings to a thief as soon as they arrive. Having nothing to lose, they continue onward.
  • Challenge Seeker: E-go, to Miyo's constant annoyance.
  • Funny Animal: Miyo who, as stated, is an anthropomorphic Fennec Fox.
  • The Nose Knows: Much to her chagrin, E-go has Miyo use her sense of smell to track to the mountain.

     Nemeth & Blueberry 
Artist: Mamanga

Blueberry's Ref
A female chupacabra cattle rustler and a anthropomorphic blueberry. The latter got an invitation from Bluff about the contest and happened to run into Nemeth along the way who's on the run from the authorities and her gang (as she killed the leader). She joins his quest at the prospect of the wish prize.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Nemeth's pink and Blueberry's....blue. So yeah.
  • Chupacabra: Nemeth is a more humanoid one. She missing her horns (she files them down) and her fangs (pulled them out) in order to hide herself from the authorites. But her bio states that they'll grow back eventually.
  • Handicapped Badass: Nemeth missing an arm (judging from her ref pic it was very recent), hasn't slowed her down much.
  • Odd Couple: Seriously, a chupacabra and a humanoid fruit. Pretty much speaks for itself.

     Neven & Renning

A alien mercenary from a species called Norns and his sentient RAM partner whom he acquired from a previous, unrelated tournament. Neven decides to join just for the thrill of it with Renning reluctantly tagging along.

     Odette

A girl who's grandfather once protected a unrelated mountain from evil spirits with a bow and arrow. However not long after he died, the bow was broken and evil spirits returned to said mountain. She tries her best to continue his work (as before he died, he promised the spirits his family would protect it) with the help of a wolf spirit she promised to married once they killed a lich haunting the area. She enters the contest helping to use the wish to repair the bow.
  • Deal with the Devil: Downplayed, she did this willingly with a wolf spirit and it doesn't seem malicious at all and actually seems to care for her.
  • Heroic RRoD: Her bio states she needs a mask to talk with the wolf spirits but it puts strain on her the more the keeps it on.
  • Interspecies Romance: With a wolf spirit.
  • Take Up My Sword: Continues her grandfather's work of looking after the mountain.

     Petite Pink

A fairy who works with a superhero team. Tired of being overlooked in favor of her more popular comrades, she climbs the mountain hoping to wish herself into becoming more powerful.
  • Being Good Sucks: At the end of Entry 1 Pink says that she felt "physically ill" after forcing herself to apologize to Collateral Girl. Entry 2 likewise has her telling Cyberbyte that she "never felt further from her comfort zone" by having to say "please" to someone.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: The reason she enters the contest. She wants to be more powerful so she can finally get some in her team.
  • Forgot About His Powers: During her first fight, she remembers that she can bring trees to life to fight for her, chalking it up to living in the city for so long.
  • I Control My Minions Through...: One of her abilities is mind-controlling animals, and forcing them to do her bidding. She can also animate trees and fungi and can convince them to fight by her side, although they seem to retain enough free-will to decide whether they actually want to stay and fight by her side or not. It turns out she just simply has to be nice and say "please" if she wants it to work.
  • Jerkass: Her bio mentions she is one.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold:
    • In her entry against Shambles, she helps him out in the end by getting him a new job and later apologizes to her teammate Collateral Girl, for her words earlier.
    • In the 2nd entry, Pink uses the "favor" Cyberbyte granted her to summon help for Ilano and Cyrterian after she defeats them.
  • The Medic: Is one on her superhero team. It frustrates her however since she's not a Combat Medic.
  • What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: How she feels towards her power, finding them useless because she can never really control them. Turns out it's because she never bothered to find out the true extent of her power. It took an opponent who can had copying power, copied Pink's and using them much more effectively then she could that it made her realize the true potential she wielded.
  • Winged Humanoid: Petite Pink is a small humanoid fairy with wings.
  • You Are What You Hate: Pink hates fairy culture. Fairies sing and dance in the forest all day which is not her style at all. She hates pacifism, but her main purpose is staying out of fights and healing her comrades. She hates the color pink, but everything she wears automatically turns pink. She hates everything about fairies, but she still is one no matter how hard she tries not to associate with them.

     Prince Errent & Princess Cadence

A prince and princess betrothed to each other through an arranged marriage. Cadence found out about the competition and decided enter , with Errent as her chaperone of sorts, to find out if King Bluff's power is real.
  • Arranged Marriage: Errent is from a area called The Tower and managed to pass it's test enough that he was deemed worthy of marrying Cadence. Cadence...doesn't seemed too thrilled with the arrangement.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Errent's power is to make object entirely from rocks.
  • Musical Assassin: A variant, Cadence's power is to make people sing out of the blue. However she can't really control it due to her unrestrained magic.

     Psyche Juriek

A winged boy outcasted and sold off due to his heritage, Psyche and his crow companion C.C have hopped into the competition as a polite response to Bluff's invite.

     Shambles

A zombie who was recently sacked from his job and given a week to get his affairs in order before being reaped. He finds out about the Bluff's contest and decides to join to prevent his fate.

     Tallagag the Hag 
Artist: Black-Cresent
Ref
A witch who initially joined at the prospect of a wish...until she found out the host was a child. Feeling insulted, she decided to climb the mountain to teach King Bluff some respect.
  • Anti-Hero: Going by her bio, she want to fix the problems of the world and teach other magic, but her methods are based sorely on impulse and pettiness.
  • Large and in Charge: Certainly one of the bigger contestants of the group.
  • Wicked Witch: Somewhat, she certainly has the motif but isn't completely evil

     Tawny 
Artist: Ixtaek
Ref
A shadowmancer who accidentally got turned into a groundhog. He climbs the mountain hoping to wish himself back to normal when previous means to restore him failed.
  • Casting a Shadow: The extent of his powers. With intense effort, he can solidify and physically throw shadows.
  • Forced Transformation: Stuck in this situation due to being stuck as a groundhog who can only interact with things via his shadow.
  • Living Shadow: This is his main power as he can only pick up thing by interacting with their shadows.
  • Love Interest: Tawny has a crush on a girl named May, which is part of his motivation to find a cure for his curse.
  • Weakened by the Light: Inverted. Because Tawny needs clear shadows to manipulate, he is weaker in the dark and stronger when he has a light source.
  • A Bloody Mess Fools his opponent into thinking they mercilessly murdered him by using red berries to create fake blood.

     Terin 
Artist: LainEiram

A robot built by aliens to be a medical droid. However due to neglect on the engineers resulted in him developing an A.I. He was exiled after an incident but ended up in the world where the mountain was and revered as a "falling star". He joins the competition under the suggestions of the townspeople who hope to use the wish to cure one of their own from a disease (though he didn't seem to catch that part).
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Apparently, it's what lead to his exile in the first place when he got into an argument on how to treat a child and burned down a hospital in response.

     Thayar & Arbrok

A wandering vagabond with a mysterious past and a bird who keeps following him for some reason. Thayar arrives at the mountain curious of Bluff's invitation with Arbrok egging him on to join the competition.
  • Curse: Thayar is stuck with this for trying to steal from a magical being. It's the reason why Arbrok follows him around.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Arbrok whenever Thayar does something stupid.
  • Hammerspace: Thayar has a hat which is apparently part of his curse. It allows him to pull whatever he needs from it. But the catch is that he can't actually use it, just give it to someone who can. If Thayar tries use the object himself, it'll just turn to dust in his hands.
  • Living Lie Detector: Arbrok whenever Thayar tries to lie. He'll always sprout out that Thayar is lying, especially if he's talking to anyone.
  • Mysterious Past: Thayar's past is never brought to light, even in his bio, and if asked about it he'll always lie.
  • One-Winged Angel: Arbok can turn into a shadow creature if attacked. However he doesn't seem to do it when Thayar is in harm's way.
  • Percussive Pickpocket: Thayar attempts this a few times in his entries. It never seems to work.
  • Sticky Fingers: A chronic pickpocket who won't hesitate to steal what he can. In fact it was his kelptomania that got him cursed in the first place.
  • Talking Animal: Arbrok, the crow that travels with him. Somewhat subverted in that he doesn't speak completely but will often say word that are related to the situation.
  • You No Take Candle: Thayar can't speak English very good, so he talks like this.

     Xing

A human being who was fused with a dimension due to a lab accident. He join the climb after feeling another self of his in the mountain world threaten by something. Curiously King Bluff didn't invite him to mountain.

Others

     Motley a.k.a. Pink & Green

A stuffed cat that has the minds of two people in it that wound up on the mountain after touching one of King Bluff's invites. However while his audition was passed over and they were unable to compete. The creator allowed them to be used in other entries and thus they have shown up in other entries as the characters wander around the mountain.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: It's a plush cat that's being moved by the mind of two people.
  • The Cameo: Have showed up in a number of entries during the first round interacting with the contestants or reacting to what's going on around them.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Green is the Blue, friendly and more outgoing while Pink is the red, rational and un-trusting.
  • Samus Is a Girl: You wouldn't be able to tell from first sight, but they're both female.
  • Sharing a Body: Though exactly how it happened is unknown, Pink and Green are struck together sharing the body of a plush cat.
