openSurvivor Fan Characters: Mysterious page locking? Webcomic
I went to check the Survivor: Fan Characters page today, and I discovered that the YMMV page was locked. I don't see any signs of edit warring in the page history, so I'm admittedly kind of confused as to how or why this happened.
Does anyone have any idea as to why this page is suddenly locked?
Edited by TheFoxopenPossible Edit War? Webcomic
So samiralula01 recently made some changes to the character page for My Dear Cold-Blooded King. These included switching the positions of two character folders and removing everything listed under one of them.
I switched the characters back, to reflect the order of appearance, and added more tropes under the aforementioned folder so that the two characters were even. I genuinely did not want to be edit warring so I removed two of the edits I had previously put there. That being said, I was still worried I was unintentionally going to start something so I tried private messaging them. But it’s been two days and they haven’t responded. What compounds the issue is that they never left a reason for their edits. What should I do?
Edited by SeptimusHeapopenDescription/picture size difference Webcomic
Floraverse has a really tall picture and a really short text description. Should we make the picture shorter, make the description longer, or both?
openQuestion about Creator's Pet Webcomic
On Sister Claire, Tropers/Twiddler insists that a character can't be both a Creator's Pet and a Base-Breaking Character. I've checked the trope pages and I can't find any rule against having a character be both tropes.
Edited by Chubzhacopen Certain Moments pages locked in Paranatural Webcomic
Although this seems to be more of an issue on my end (i saw a very recent edit on the Awesome subpage), some of the Moments (Heartwarming, etc.) pages for Paranatural are locked. I don't see a reason for these being locked, and I'd like to remove spoiler tags from those areas (as Moments pages are Spoilers Off pages) as well as try to fix some links (links with id=page# redirect the user to the newest page of the comic instead of what the original poster requested, so I've tried to replace them with archived links to make sure they work).
Edited by SeptimusHeapopenSpurious Page Locks Webcomic
Gunnerkrigg Court and Gunnerkrigg Court – Chapter 23 "Terror Castle of the Jupiter Moon Martians" are locked, so it is currently impossible to index the latter page. Actually, it seems as if all of the comic's recap pages, as well as quite literally every other page I've been on over the past day, is inexplicably locked.
If someone could also unlock Star Wars: Forces of Destiny and Star Wars Forces Of Destiny S 1 E 7 The Strangler (no, you did not misread that typo), there's a misspelling I want to fix.
Edited by TurquoiseOwlopen Locked Page Glitch Webcomic
Webcomic.A Softer World locked itself when I tried to edit it, I think due to a glitch. Could someone please unlock it?
openBroken Link Webcomic
For Webcomic.Free Spirit 2014, would anyone here know how to fix the link in the Interactive Fiction entry?
openIs Koan a correct namespace? Webcomic
Discovered that this page Koan.Kill Six Billion Demons was made earlier today, and was wondering it's allowed in the same way that haiku pages are.
open Old kids show about Cars Webcomic
I've been racking my brains trying to remember a childhood show I used to love. It had an awesome intro with music and was about cars that were animated. Believe the worlds dream, land, world , may be close to it.
openExamples from individual comics? Webcomic
Just out of curiosity, why doesn't Webcomic.Rage Comics allow examples from individual comics? Webcomic.Polandball allows examples from individual strips, and I don't see how that's any different.
openWhat, exactly, is Reactions.Homestuck? Webcomic
What is Reactions.Homestuck?
Given how impermeable the fandom is I can't even make heads or tails of the page.
openThe World Is Flat - example list Webcomic
Does The World is Flat have an exception from Weblinks Are Not Examples? Nearly all of the examples are just weblinks, but it is used so often for our trope depictions that I wouldn't be surprised if it had a special exception from the rule.
openPossible bashing and off-topic stuff on WMG.VeganArtbook Webcomic
WMG.Vegan Artbook. Here's the entry for the "Once they've killed all the humans who disagree with them, the vegans will turn on other carnivores" theory:
There are a lot of animals who eat meat too. To protect the herbivores (whom they've already killed all of humanity for) they'll kill all the omnivores and carnivores. This, of course, will lead to a horrific environmental catastrophe as the predator-free animals eat all the vegetation and then starve to death.
- [Yerdian voice] "Lions, tho." But, on a more serious note: a lot of militant vegans—Yerdian included—do seem to have a disconnect regarding predators, or at least a refusal to acknowledge that the very existence of predators pokes big holes in their dogma. (Although it should probably be noted that Yerdian thinks cats can be vegan.)
I deleted the bullet point with the edit reason "Removed an irrelevant bullet point that only served to bash vegans". It was restored with the justification that "Except it's not "bashing vegans." The word "militant" is significant. And the link in question IS relevant to the topic." I still don't think it belongs. The page is supposed to be about the work — not whether real-life vegans' attitudes towards predators make sense. Who's right here?
I'm unsure if the "The comic isn't meant to be taken seriously" theory belongs on the page at all. It seems like work bashing. It's not the only case of that I've seen either (WMG.The Legend Of The Titanic has an entry claiming the movie is a false-flag operation to discredit anti-whaling groups, for instance). Similarly, the (good) "The events of Pupa Vegan 319 were all one big frame-up." theory has a natter-y bullet point with work bashing and author bashing.
Edited by MathsAngelicVersionopenStupid Short Eevee Comic Webcomic
I happened to have heard of this comic and was curious if it had an article here, so via Google I found this: Stupid Short Eevee Comic
Yeah it's a complete stub, no wicks or crosswicks, no indexing, and obviously it wasn't run through the launch pad. The history shows Troper kome360 created the page (if said page never was cut before). Before this article is put on the chopping block, I'd figure to relay this here just in case.
openCopyright of pictures Webcomic
I'm currently working to polish up the character sheet of the webcomic "Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic", and I want to add a picture for each character. I have asked the author, Rich Morris, for permission to use extracts of his comic strips, and he said it was okay. I'm not sure about the copyright specification though. Do I have to note the author somewhere when I upload a picture to T Vtropes? Do I have to link every picture to the origin site?
openUnreality Webcomic
About two weeks ago, I stumbled onto the stub page Webcomic.Unreality, which 1) was made by the comic's writer, one Kiyan Shahab, 2) had no examples, and 3) had a YMMV page with one non-YMMV item, made by said writer. I messaged the guy, telling him it needed examples and linking him to How to Create a Work's Page, before throwing the YMMV page on the Cut List.
His response was to add a single trope example and nothing else, indicating he did not take a look at the relevant rules and/or is not really interested in heeding those rules. So, I'm thinking a mod needs to chat with him, but should I just Cut List the page in the meantime?
Is Web comic 1 word or 2 for a namespace?
