Bumping this because troperaiser removed the link
again. I have sent them a PM about the Red Link policy, but in the meantime I am wondering if changing it back to a link would be kosher. I know that the wiki "generally recognize[s] exceptions to the edit warring policy in cases where the editor is making an article compliant with wiki policies", which I figure includes the rule about making red links, but I wanted to make absolutely sure so as to not run afoul of the rules.
No worries - I added it back myself, with a note saying that the red link is supposed to be there. They're already in an edit war, but now it's an extra layer of mess-up if they choose to remove the link again
I've been corrected - it's not an edit war, but now hopefully no one else chooses to remove it.

^ Thank you for the clarification. I erred on the side of caution because the relevant policy page says that an edit war when person A adds something, person B changes it, and person A reverts it. Changing it back to a link myself seemed like it could count as a violation on my part.

I'm actually not sure that redlinking future works is allowed.
The relevant policy is to redlink existing works that don't have pages yet. I don't think there's anything directly covering works that don't exist yet, and in fact would think it would be discouraged in the case of the work not seeing release or being renamed before coming out.

I admit it's a bit of a gray area, but without any official word on this particular scenario, I would think that the overarll Red Link policy would still apply. I don't want to get too hung up on the wording, but it seems very general.

^ Technically you still would’ve been in an edit war - since you would’ve added the same thing in twice - but since the policy is on your side, you should be in the clear to add it back if it gets removed again
I think the reason the red link was removed is that it could encourage tropers to create the page prematurely.

Giving this another bump because the relevant portion of the page was edited twice by Godscar Chasm. First, they changed "Spider-Man: No Way Home" to "Spider-Man: No Way Home", before similarly altering "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" to "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". I know the discussion here hasn't been resolved, but these are clear-cut sinkholes and I wanted to make sure that I would not fall afoul of the edit war rules were I to change them. (The other reason I am holding off for now is because I am not entirely sure whether to make them red links or simple plain text.)
Those aren't okay, I'm gonna go ahead and revert.

Only semi-related but I noticed that Godscar Chasm also recently changed a few links to WesternAnimation.Frozen to Film.Frozen, which is... Not great.

^^ I think this may have just been an honest mistake over them not understanding namespaces, but they're definitely someone to keep an eye on. If you want to make a thread go ahead.
I think redlinking for future works should go in its own thread, which I've started a thread for. This thread can stay to discuss the edit warring.
Yesterday, I edited WandaVision's description to change a mention of the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to a Red Link, since that page says to "always link to works even if it doesn't have a page yet, unless the work would violate the Content Policy—it makes it easier for when someone eventually writes it up." Not long afterwards, King Clark edited the page to (among many other things) revert the link back to plain text.
In the interest of avoiding an edit war, I wanted to make sure that adding red links for future works without pages is allowed (since, in this case, someone will undoubtedly make the page once sufficient pre-release material comes out).
