OK, because I'm confused, here's how both tropes work:
- Shout-Out: Bordelands references:
- X in this moment
- Y in that moment
- Z in the other moment
- Referenced by...: Borderland has Shout Outs in many other shows.
- X references Borderland when...
- Y references it when...
- In Z, the reference is...
I don't understand the question at all. Why are Borderlands games being sub-bulleted under Firefly?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.
I think they're trying to say Firefly has a lot of Borderlands examples, at least as far as the theoretical goes? I could be wrong though.

They said it's for the Borderlands Shoutout page, so it's saying that there are a lot of Firefly shoutouts in those two entries of the Borderlands series. However, the Doctor Who example does not note which entry in the Borderlands series it comes from hence the confusion I believe.

Anyway, any reason not to do something like this?

A reason I should not note things like Shout-Out, for multiple entries in a franchise?
Like how I'm renaming examples sections
for clarity in that they're about tropes that occur in "multiple entries in the series"...
For example:
Any reason that shouldn't be noted on ShoutOut.Borderlands?
