We have a page for some of her books, such as Gives Light. To recreate her Creator page, one would need to focus on her works and the tropes in them (if they don't have their own pages they could go there) without getting into the My Immortal drama.

Also a little suspect that most of this person's edit history is just Christo's books.

v An author most well known for claiming to have written My Immortal, but this is heavily disputed as many aspects of her life may be fraudulent, so she's quite Overshadowed by Controversy.

Edited by mightymewtron I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Contents of page when it was cut
Rose Christo is a Young Adult Literature author. She is best known for claiming and perhaps having the most credible claim to being the author of the infamous Harry Potter fanfic My Immortal.

She is the author of Count and Countess, Gives Light, Someone Else's War, Laughing Winds, and King Of The Celts, amongst others. Rose’s writing often featured Native American characters or focused on Native American issues, which she claimed authority on as a member of the Shoshone tribe. She also claimed she was separated from her brother in the New York City foster care system due to their racist treatment of Native Americans. She wrote about her experiences, which included writing My Immortal in an attempt to connect with her brother via a popular fandom in her memoir, Under the Same Stars.

In September 2017, Buzzfeed News reported that Rose was the author of My Immortal and announced that the publication of Under the Same Stars would be forthcoming from Macmillan.

However, her brother, the YouTube vlogger Sallow Dawn, came forward on the Internet forum Kiwi Farms under the username “DawnDusk” to state that their family has no Native American heritage, and Rose greatly exaggerated or outright lied about their family in her memoir. He stated he had no idea if Rose wrote My Immortal or not, but said that it's one of her more plausible claims, noting that she enjoyed reading bad fanfiction as a kid. Upon a further review from the Macmillan legal team, it was also discovered that Rose falsified or altered legal documents that she was asked to produce to verify parts of her memoir.

Rose continued to insist her claims were true on her personal tumblr account and attacked Sallow Dawn for posting about her on Kiwi Farms. In October 2017, Macmillan canceled Under the Same Stars and subsequently Rose deleted all of her social media accounts and stopped writing additional books.

In February 2021, Rose updated her Amazon author profile biography to announce that she had been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, was in treatment, and she would be remaining off of the Internet for the foreseeable future.

Associated tropes

  • Based on a Great Big Lie: The reason her planned memoir, Under the Same Stars, was never released was because it was revealed she'd either greatly exaggerated or straight-up lied about various aspects of her life in the book, such as her claim of being Native American. Her brother was the first to bring attention to this and publisher Macmillan also made inquiries to ascertain the facts; Macmillan cancelled the memoir's release when Christo was unable to provide proof of her claims (Christo herself claimed to have altered documents to protect her family's privacy)..
  • Creator Backlash: She considers Count and Countess to be a work she is ashamed of, to the point of removing all online copies she could find; according to Christo she came to think of it as poorly-written due to her having written and released it when she was a child.
  • Creator Breakdown: She completely stopped writing and deleted her entire online presence in 2017, after her brother revealed that she was not actually Native American and was lying about her personal history for decades. She also later stated to be struggling with mental illness and wanted to focus on treatment.
  • Fake Nationality: Claimed Native American ancestry throughout her career before being exposed by her brother.
  • Lying Creator: Lied about the premise of her memoir, Under the Same Stars. She claimed she was a Native American who was separated from her brother in the New York City foster care system. Her brother came forward on Kiwi Farms, revealing she was white, and they were never in foster care. Her memoir was subsequently canceled.
  • Reclusive Artist: After the scandal over Under the Same Stars, Rose deleted the entirety of her social media presence and appears to have quit writing.

It needs to be written with significantly less "look at the controversy". We don't care about the drama surrounding a creator unless it has affected the creator's output... and all of the tropes are "look at this controversy".

In theory, the page can be recreated as a list of the stuff she actually did write, but in practice there's no reason to bother.

I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.
