"Annus mirabilis" means "wonderful year". I always though it meant "miserable year", which I have to say is pretty different. :P

The phrase closest to "miserable year" is "Annus horribilis" or "horrible year.

EDIT: Oh, and apparently "Kiwis" is the proper plural form when referring to New Zealand residents, but "Kiwi" is the proper plural form when referring to the birds. Weird.

Somatic Symptom Disorder is a disorder where people manifest physical symptoms due to stress but it isn't related to another disorder. Conversion Disorder is a type of SSD where you can go blind or paralyzed due to stress.
I recently read an article about a woman who went blind for months simply due to stress. The mind is a scary plaything.
