Think you might not be happy with Scarlet and Violet, then.
Wake me up at your own risk.Nintendo and GF literally sells both versions bundled they want you to buy them both.
The entire point of version exclusives is to either buy the game twice or trade.
Legends Arceus actually fixed most of the most annoying problems in pokemon.
Alternatives to trade evolutions.
Having move relearning be an GUI option
Choosing when you can evolve pokemon
While also changing up a tired formula with boss battles you can fight without your pokemon.
While making traversing the over world and catching pokemon be exciting with alphas as mini bosses.
Frankly Legends Arceus was the first time since the shadow pokemon games I was excited to play through a pokemon games and pay attention to the story.
Cuz I haven't touched SWSH since borrowing it from my friend
I ignored the let's go games
And the only reason I found myself playing BDSP was nostalgia

shouldn't you guys be discussing this on the Pokemon general in the videogames forum instead of this one about the anime?
I tend to discuss both and I already said my piece on why Alain vs Leon was an underwhelming squash match.
Ontop of giving me zero expectations that any of the other fights will be any better.
They're clearly saving all the budget for the main event of Ash v Leon and I'm as invested in Leon as a rival to Ash as I was with Leon in the game.
BDSP was outsourced to another company(I forget their names), and was made through Unity. It’s still too buggy, but not Gamefreak’s fault either way.
But yeah, this makes more sense for the video game thread as it’s not even partially related to the anime.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Yeah, I don't think it's a nostalgia or outgrowing thing for me either. Every other childhood game franchise I consume, I still enjoy their current content with many of their recent entries being some of my favorites. Pokemon has just been noticeably more lacking ever since ORAS and the game devs outright admitting they're watering down the games to appeal to an even simpler child's broad appeal structure when their games were already some of the most simple child's broad appeal out there.
I guess Dead Rising is another franchise I used to love that tried that but they actually crashed and burned because of it.
ILCA and Masuda still directed it.
Leon is the reason why most talks of the anime go right back to the game.
He's completely ripped directly from the game where his entire shtick is:
"The Greatest Champion Leon and his invicble Charizard"
So talks about Leon are gonna go back to his game version.
Because without the game version he's basically every "Ash's end of season tournament rival that beats him"
Hell Hop who fleshed Leon out somewhat in the game just appeared in the anime to lose to Ash then cheer on his big bro.
I'll just say this: I believe that Ash beating Leon is fait accompli. This is I would have wanted that battle not be the Final: so that Ash's ascension to Monarch would remain in doubt.
Moving on, allow me to lament two things:
- It'll be 3 weeks until we see the next match. Seriously, with that long of a delay, I would have put Alain's match in the subsequent episode, barring the opening toss. It's too bad they couldn't have pushed the delay up a week.
- It's too bad that there are only 12 slots this timenote . We needed more slots to honor both the current core and Ash's All-Stars.
Now, if Ash were to field his All-Stars in the Final, I think that I know who 5 of them would have been: Pikachu, Charizardnote , Sceptile, Ash-Greninja, and Lyanroc. And a(nother) member of the current team would be the 6th. But which one do you think it would be?
I'm leaning towards 1 of the 2 Fighting Types: Lucario or Sirfetch'd. From what I recall, Lucario's record definitely speaks well for it taking the #6 spot. But Sirfetch'd was introduced this generation and Lucario is second only to Charizard in Wolverine Publicity, so Sirfetch'd would be a fresh face.note
Also, especially with the ceremony and pageantry involved, I would have wanted Ash's intro for the Final to involve several of his companions and Pokemon. The bulk would be ran out behind Ash with other companions riding herd, (you can imagine the resulting chaos,) but Ash's All-Star Six would each have an escort to run the respective Pokemon onto the field and hand off their ball to Ash:
- Misty for Charizard
- Max for Sceptilenote
- Serena for Greninja
- Lillie for Lyanroc
- Goh for whomever from the current team is chosen
- Delia for Pikachu
We won't get that, for time concerns if nothing else, but I think that it would have been awesome.
Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.Assuming Ash wins, which Pokemon do you think will deal the final blow? To me it has to be Pikachu.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I think Pikachu's taking the gold home here. I could see Lucario and/or Dragonite weakening Leon's Charizard before going down themselves though
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Gigantamax Pikachu vs Gigantamax Charizard.
Unfortunately, Pikachu has the type advantage, so by Rule of Drama he won't win.
All the other matches are getting a full episode, so they're all bound to be better than the first match which literally got half an episode.
Yea this match was really dragged down by how rushed it felt.
I'm actually pretty interested in Diantha vs Lance since its the only announced matchup were the winner isnt obvious.
Im kinda rooting for Diantha if only to counter her reputation as one of the easiest champions in the games tough the fact that her team has a clear type advantage ironically makes me less confident in her winning.
I want Diantha to win for that reason too, that and seeing Leon vs. Lance again would be redundant. Let the girl win.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I think the problem is Leon's battles are always one-sided. They had the quick Flint battle in episode 100 and his battle with Lance and Raihan earlier in the series, so you know until we get to Ash vs. Leon, his battles aren't going to be fun to watch.
If Diantha wins here, she'll be up against Leon next, and getting to see her defeated by Leon quick is going to be hard to watch. They really should of kept Leon out of the tournament bracket like Kukui in the SM league, and have his match be the winner.
Or, perhaps, let the rankings matter and have Ash battle him first to get the Defeating the Undefeatable part out of the way while keeping the identity of the winner in doubt.
And I'm not so sure that the battle that precedes and/or follows Ash vs Steven would get any better treatment than Alain getting Trevored. Either the buildup to Ash's match will take a significant portion of the oxygen and/or the match that follows should be the last one in the Quarters, so "hurry up to the Semis already".
Leon's semifinal would get full treatment, for whatever value of "full" it can provide. If Lance advances, then it'll be a repeat of Kiawe vs Gladion; if Diantha, then Lana vs Guzma. The question becomes: "Does Alain's Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors against Rillaboom count as showing Leon as Not So Invincible After All?" And, if not, would it take downing GigantaZard or would you have to win against any of Leon's without Type Advantage? Either way, having a team tailored to beat Leon precludes the latter.
And, IMO, giving Ash an insight into how to beat Leon's aces would be the only narrative purpose of Leon's Semi that doesn't just repeat story beats already covered.
Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.If Ash beats Leon I predict it will be the same as his original championship win in the Orange League.
Leon busting out his Charizard to break the 4 to 1 lead that Ash has before squaring off against Pikachu in a rematch.
Like others I would like Ash's team against Leon to be composed of his former aces
Charizard
Sceptile
Infernape
Krokodile
Greninja
Lycanroc
But journeys is pushing his new team as the one to ultimately face Leon.

https://mobile.twitter.com/anipoke_PR/media huh did this pokemon anine Twitter question just spoiler the quarterfinal winners? the answer to the question is wooloo which you get by taking the symbol from Leon, diantha, Cynthia, and ashs spots on the tourney chart in the twitter pic
"The insistence on multiple versions for the "complete experience" in the 2020s"
Haven't they been doing that since, like, the beginning?
No new episode today or next week Y tho?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsJuly 15th is when it return.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. That's even worse. 4 weeks between eps, yet no movie.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsOriginally it was supposed to have different Pokemon based on your Trainer ID number (up to 65535 at first, then 999999), but it was too difficult to implement.

The Protomen enhanced my life.really? Serebii says 7/8 for the new ep.
This whole Champion League thing is so surreal having watched the anime all the way when it started back in the 90s.
I can't help but feel the writers have written themselves into a corner here. If Ash loses at any point we'll likely have a backlash on the likes of the Kalos League. But if he does win it all, where the hell does he go from here?
