During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

- Dice Funk: "Ilium": Gylan Cadun is a vile member of the Order of the Merciful Sword who uses his position to indulge his sadism and prejudices. In the past he ordered the destruction of a village of peaceful Orcs, and when his men refused, had Rolen Hawklight beaten and banished from the order and destroyed the village anyway. When the vampire Count Danto attacked the Order, Gylan sold them out, killed any paladins that resisted, and willingly became a vampire servant of the tyrannical Danto. Gylan then began recruiting people to become vampires within the Order, allowing them to harass and murder whoever they please, and having dozens of people held captive and drained of their blood. When Rolen and Veltari confronted him, Gylan attempted to cut of Rolens fingers, and then attempted to force a protesting Veltari to murder an innocent man.

Zapped an Unapproved CM entry from Run All Night.
- Complete Monster: Andrew Price. He's a psychopathic and ruthless assassin who has no qualms murdering police officers and innocent people in order to get his mark. He openly states that he will kill Jimmy for free, and for that reason doesn't give up his pursuit even after his employer is dead. It's also heavily implied that not only would he have killed Michael and Jimmy, but that he also planned on killing Michael's entire family, including the children. To say watching him have his brains blown out is satisfying would be an understatement.
Ordeaux: Nice catch. Although assuming its accurate, Price might be a keeper. According to the page, he kills half a dozen police officers in one sitting. Someone might want to check that film out.

As the one who got Gamilat put up, I can say the game never gives a specific name to the village massacres, only proscribing it to the Romans in general. I guess it ultimately depends on whether we want to hold Rufio directly responsible or not since he gives the broad order to pacify the region at any cost. He is the one who explicitly orders the villages burned in retaliation for the Hidden Ones killing his lieutenants.
Outside of that, though, is whether or not a strong loyalty and conviction to the Order of the Ancient's goals are enough to qualify him as a Well-Intentioned Extremist. Here is a video featuring his death scene, starting at 2:25.
Whether or not you find him genuine, we've disqualified truly heinous candidates who still believe in the overall good of their cause at heart.
