Soma or Alucard for sure
Probbaly Alucard because of his popularity. I know Symphony of the Night never got a Nintendo release but neither did the original Metal Gear Solid 1.
Alucard is unlikely (at least to be one of the final two characters) because he's an Assist Trophy.
I would want Maria in her original Rondo of Blood incarnation, if only for the hilarity of beating up Sephiroth as a twelve year old girl in a pink dress who shoots out animals.
In other news, I just got Dracula X Chronicles digitally on my Vita, as well as the original PS 1 version of Symphony on Vita as well. (I got Symphony on the PS 3 store and if you buy a game on PS 3 that's also on Vita, you can download the Vita version for free)
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I think Charlotte is the character I would most like to see, but I don't think it's all that likely even if the did another Castlevania character.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Well, if we're talking about characters that are unlikely...
I'm going to go for the complete longshot, and say the character I'd want to see is Sonia Belmont.
That is a long shot.
Maybe they could incorporate her soul weapons to replace the usual items that Richter and Simon use.
Well then, I'm going to go all in and say I want them to use Carrie. Give some rep to the N64 games.
Positive that it.
One Strip! One Strip!Actually, Y'know what? The best way to represent Portrait of Ruin would be to have Charlotte and Jonathan as a single character with a swap out mechanic a la Pokemon Trainer.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Soma, but as OP as his spirit.
Decided to take a trip down the memory lane and replayed portrait of ruin in full past week. Had a really pleasant trip, not gonna lie, although I do resent some of the gameplay being just a tad too heavy for what would be cool. Fighting stella and Death were some great fights too.
I still think that game's got the best story of the DS games. Like I sorta get why order of ecclesia and the sorrow always kinda overshadowed this one online but I was always kinda disappointed in Shanoa actively enforcing the whole "emotionless girl" shtick for more than half the story.
The writing of Po R was fairly basic and to-the-point but I still think it effectively conveys Jonathan's past hangups with his father without making him annoying for it and still manages to be reasonable. The vampire twins were also great as far as I'm concerned. Stella's an amazing solo fight and I always found the disturbing factor of what Brauner did to them to hit the right spot, and even Brauner manages to hit that small spark of pity for his death for me.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Random thought: would game Sypha be considered a nun, what with working for the church and all?
I suppose it's not specified if acts as a sister or anything., but she's part of the church, so I'd think she'd be a nun of some sort.
One Strip! One Strip!I believe she wears a (Incredibly stylized anime type) habit in Castlevania: Judgment so she might at least think so.

Yeah. Judgment is what got me thinking about it.
Like, even if people don't like her characterization in that game (and Konami immediately backtracked on it), the idea that her clan got screwed over by shit Carmilla was doing seems like not a bad origin (since he doesn't have much for where she came from in the games, and Ellis deliberately disconnected from the church in the netflix series).
I do think if she was raised in the church, as her wiki implies, it would make sense she'd become a nun.
Edit: Wait. I just realized that Nuns don't get married. So probably was not a nun. Never mind.

One Strip! One Strip! And it's also taking place during The French Revolution.
Which as it turns out, is within the time frame of the game (it apparently started in 1789, and ended in 1799).
That's 50% of the conflict right there.
One Strip! One Strip!A correction to the announcement.
So, what was going on in Romania during the French Revolution?

Rondo of Blood incoming?
Makes sense. It's needed for symphony's adaptation
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."x3 I think they'll just set in France.
The Belmonts where originally from France anyway.
I wouldn't expect this to be a straight adaptation of either Rondo or Symphony. I'm sure it will take some elements of those games, but by this point the series has firmly established itself as an Alternate Continuity.
Wonder what they'll do with Maria and her powers.
After how creative they got with Sypha's powers, I'm hoping for some wild stuff from Maria.

Summon all the animals!
The Protomen enhanced my life.
So....if you could put in some other Castlevania characters for Smash, who would they be.
Either version of Maria would probably work. And I'm sure they'd like to get Alucard in there as something beyond a Trophy, but are there any other choices.
Maybe Soma? Sypha perhaps? Shanoa or Charlotte? A complete wild card like Cornell, or even Carrie?
