Scope of laconics

I don't see how that is any worse than the "repeat title" laconics potholing to Exactly What It Says on the Tin.

Just realize there's a ton of laconics for recap pages for Milo Murphy's added some months ago ^note and NONE of them links back to the unabridged page. That's bad editing practice, guys... :

Yes, recap page laconics should all be removed. If you check the pinned post there's a sandbox with (all?) them listed. If there are any recap pages you come across with laconics that aren't on the sandbox, feel free to cutlist them

Was there a mass search for any laconic pages for Character and Index pages? If not, can they be added to the Sandbox?

I know we have all of the recap pages, but it's a long list and it's less daunting to go for what I'm assuming to be low-hanging fruit in comparison (i.e. they'll be fewer)

I haven't mass-searched with Character pages yet because they'd be mostly overlapping with work pages, so this would need some better approach.

Remind me to check the list of indexes later.

Re: characters, yeah that makes sense. Going to need to find a better way of working through those then (if there is one).

And I guess I'll bump the thread tomorrow as a reminder re: index.

Laconic.Light Yagami and Laconic.Sephiroth are laconics for a SelfDemonstrating.Character Pages. Thoughts?

They've been removed for Characters pages, I'd personally take the same view for self-demonstrating characters.

Anyway, I've put in a list of Index pages, though I'm not sure if pages about genres or those with contextualized work examples are real indexes. (Why does Laconic Wiki have index pagetype?)

Since there are 6668 Laconic-Characters overlaps, without better ideas I've just scrolled through manually and picked anything suspicious. I believe these are the only ones, so I'd consider Characters/ being done and a non-issue.

Thanks for the list.

I had cut some Marvel Comics CSP laconics on my own. I think it might be a “remove as you see” angle because I also can’t think of a way to automate the search.

Of note, some of the pages linked are not just indexes like Draco in Leather Pants, so be judicious.

Self-demonstrating is a subset of Just for Fun, which was voted to keep... but if there was a crowner on SD alone, we'd vote to delete them.

I find them redundant with character sheets. Laconic for character self-demonstrating = description on character's folder.

I'd assume the vast majority of pages in the index folder shouldn't be cut. If the page description indicates it's a trope/worktype in addition to an index (and could be included in a work description or examples list without standing out), leave it alone.

Laconic.King Arthur and Laconic.Merlin are subpages to character page-like Myth/ pages. Cut or nah?

I'd question why are they on own Work pages pages instead of being Characters.Arthurian Legend subpages.

AFAIK indices are never supposed to be included in example lists, even genre pages which are like a trope-index hybrid. So I don't think this line is all that clear cut, tbh

That's why I also said "work description". There's also the aforementioned Draco in Leather Pants that indexes but is a YMMV thing and plenty of others like Cosmic Entity, Purity Personified, Took a Level in Badass, Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot, etc.

Myth/ is a work namespace. Keep for now.

I don't have a problem with individual Myth/ pages or anything like that.

Self-Demonstration pages? Yeah, we could have brought those up, and I would vote to ban if we do.

Maybe we can add them to the future crowner that will decide which useful notes pages (if any) get laconics cut (along with creator pages outside of the creator namespace)
