Alright, so I have a cut for one of mine from Agents of SHIELD:

• Season 5: Taryan is a Kree noble and leading member of the Confederacy, a collection of various empires out to exploit planets for resources before Thanos completes the Infinity Gauntlet. After the newly-empowered Glenn Talbot takes over the Remorath, Taryan plays on his ego and growing insanity to convince him to cause chaos on Earth while the Remorath bring him the powerful Quake, whom he tries to break into a loyal disciple. In a Bad Future where Talbot destroyed the planet because of his manipulations, Taryan set up a Kree outpost to farm the surviving humans for Inhuman slaves, placing his son Kasius in command as punishment for retreating from a suicide mission. On this outpost, humans are forced to slaughter each other in regular purges; rebellious lawbreakers are sent to be eaten by Vrellnexians on the planet's surface; and Inhumans, even children, are forced to fight in death matches, with the victors auctioned off as soldiers.

First off: getting Talbot to blow up the planet was unintentional. While he did send him to cause some havoc, it was primarily to gain Gravitonium and maybe aim a super soldier at the encroaching Thanos. He very clearly still wants the Earth, and is annoyed by its destruction.

Second: while his slave trade is bad, all the really nasty aspects are flourishes from his son. I believe my original proposal argued that he was still the one to enable all Kasius' crimes, but that's a stretch; Taryan exiled Kasius to the farthest corner of his empire, uncaring to anything he did over there.

Overall, his two biggest crimes were respectively unintentional and explicitly done by only his son, with no strong focus on how the slave trade in the rest of his intergalactic empire operates. Apologies for the errors.

Cut Taryan then, his son a potential keeper if he's the one running the slave trade?

Kasius; the backstory details her saving his life during a suicide mission, believing that "the battlefield was not his place" and that bloodshed should be left to her so he can focus on "greater things."

Now, admittedly, she does almost betray Kasius for his brother after he almost sends her to her death, but it's ambiguous whether this was a genuine betrayal, or just a gambit to get him to stand up for himself against his brother and prove his love for her.

Okay so Lighty asked me if there were any other candidates of mine that we needed to revisited. I replied that I didn’t think there was anyone else but I can always check and so I did and unfortunately for me I do have a candidate I once got approved that we may need to cut after I relooked his scenes. Calvin Bunker from Banshee. This is Calvin’s CM entry

• Calvin Bunker, Kurt Bunker's brother, is the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood in Banshee, where he proceeds to burn off his brother's tattoos off with a blowtorch when he denounces his allegiance to them in Season 3's finale. Appearing in Season 4, Calvin has a trespasser's head caught in a vice, where he proceeds to tighten the vice's grip, crushing his head and killing him. When his father-in-law, Randall Watts, arrives and takes over leadership, Calvin would bisect one of his own men on Watts's orders before killing Watts and present his head to Kai Proctor; He would also rape his own wife after bragging that he killed Watts, her father. When his brother, Kurt, tries to protect Calvin's wife and son safe from him, Calvin beats his work boss to death out of rage, before attempting to kill Kurt and his own wife and son.

Now the part exclaiming “Calvin would bisect one of his own men on Watts's orders”. Looking at that scene again Calvin was upset that Watt’s forced him to kill that guy (Pony Joe) weeping as he killed Pony while saying to Watts “we just killed one of our own for that fucking dutchie” in an distraught tone and it’s implied that he kills Watts for being a Bad Boss to him, though Calvin said he killed Watts because the latter strayed from the Aryan Brotherhood ideals. Now Watts doesn’t count because he loves his daughter and grandson and in the end Calvin is much worse than him, but Calvin being distraught of being forced to kill one of his own men, does imply that he at least cares for his men. The fact that his brother cries after killing Calvin isn’t helping matters. (I not sure if that’s an Alas, Poor Villain or not since it’s ONLY his brother who mourns him and we let allows CMs to say on the count only one person mourns killing them). Still I’m vouching to cut Calvin given that it’s implied that he cares for his men and was clearly upset that he was forced to kill one of them

There's one Ratchet and Clank Complete Monster I have a hard time accepting and that would be Courtney Gears. Here's her writeup

• Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal: Courtney Gears, pop sensation of the Solana Galaxy, doubles as The Dragon to Dr. Nefarious and is the one carrying out his goal of destroying all organic life in the galaxy. Courtney Gears operates Nefarious's Biobliterator—a device that subjects any organic to Unwilling Roboticisation, reducing them to mindless murder-bots—and tests it out on Skidd. Not only intending to use the Biobliterator on a much larger population, Courtney turns her latest hit into a sensation to encourage her loyal fans to kill any "squishies" that Nefarious doesn't convert with the Biobliterator.

My issues with Courtney Gears comes down to tone. For starters her song: yes it is a genocidal song BUT for a song that's has a dark tone, people's reactions to it in-universe kinda undermine it's evilness. Like right after the video is shown, Ratchet does that dance where he shakes his butts and mimics the likeness of boobs. Another example is in Deadlocked where when we first see Big Al, he seen dancing and shaking his booty to the song before being confronted by Ratchet. My point is is that the comical tone around one of the reasons she's listed as a CM are severely undercut by the scenes surrounding it, like no one takes it seriously or are seen enjoying it despite it's dark lyrics. Plus just before he fights her, he mocks her singing, saying let's hope she can fight better than she can sing.

Regarding her thing with Skidd, a couple things: One, we don't see how she kidnaps Skidd and it couldn't of been too rough considering the next time we see him, he's physically fine, but is strapped to a table. Two, just before Courtney turns Skidd into a robot, he covers his junk, again lowering the impact the scene had. And three, the part about "mindless murder bots" are only seen with the Thyranoids, who were already evil and homicidal, Skidd not only retains a core part of his personality with his 'like' and 'dude' speech, but when you go back to the Phoenix, he doesn't try to kill you when your in the cage with him, he just stands there. Once again, the comical tone kinda undermines the CM aspect that defined the other C Ms.

My overall point is is that RC 3 is kind of a comical game that isn't taken seriously, heck it doesn't itself seriously as the other games do. Courtney is no different because scenes surrounding her even when she does evil things is meant with some parts of comedy that undermine the serious tone that other C Ms exhibit.

Based on all of this, I propose to cut Courtney Gears as a RC Complete Monster.

I don't know own much about the game's tone, so I'll let Scraggle give his take on that.

My question for Courtney Gears after looking up her character section for the game and watching the boss battle to confirm she says it, but she says this during her boss battle when one of her dancers is destroyed.

Courtney Gears: Melissa! She was one of my best dancers! You're gonna pay for that!

This seems to indicate some level of care for her underlings. Is there anything else in the game to depict her as Bad Boss or have no regard for her minions?

Courtney's mention of her dancer is a black comedy off-handed annoyance that one of her "best dancers" was killed so I don't think that affects her much at all.

As for tone, I'd say she's more than serious enough, myself. She has her lighthearted moments but the game makes it clear that genocide is her and Nefarious's plan, her song having a dark undercurrent and involving her bragging about "exterminating all organic life". A snarky hero taunting the villain about something like that being disqualifying would get like every Spider-Man villain cut lol.

Yeah, for the standard of Ratchet & Clank, Courtney more than passes. I agree I was wary on her proposal given she's a Britney Spears parody, but her and the effects of her roboticizer are played seriously enough in the end.

Like, we have standards. We disqualified Stuart Zurgo for being too silly even in comparison to some of the franchise's goofier keepers. Courtney is above that threshold and we've had a healthy discussion about that, involving not one but two proposals.

Likewise, Ravok has it in the bag with Melissa. It's not Even Evil Has Loved Ones. It's annoyance at best.

Speaking of Ratchet and Clank, I'm not disputing him on heinous concerns since his final scheme handily clears the standard. but with Klunk isn't Secret Agent Clank non canon? And portrayed as a Show Within a Show so it's its own thing?
