To-do list:
- Move wicks for Tastes Like Diabetes that fit Sweetness Aversion (an Audience Reaction) or Sickeningly Sweet (an In-Universe Examples Only trope) and remove ones that don't.
A wick check originally made by Unicorndance (who gave me permission to use the wick check in a TRS thread via PMs) confirms this usage. (I also touched up the wick check a bit myself for the record.) Quick results:
- 6/50 examples, or 11.3%, were correct,
- 6/50 examples, or 11.3%, were both negative and incorrectly used,
- 21/50 examples or 39.6%, were In-Universe usage,
- 3/50 examples, or 5.7%, overlapped with Sweet Dreams Fuel,
- 3/50 examples, or 5.7%, were ZCEs, and
- 14 examples, or 35.8%, were unclear or had multiple issues.
Worth noting that the unclear examples usually overlapped with the other categories in one way or another.
My recommendation for this trope would be to rename Tastes Like Diabetes to a more descriptive name for the trope's concept, of which I currently have no ideas. The In-Universe usage could be moved to more applicable tropes, or even split off into a separate trope where applicable. Finally, the original name could be disambiguated.
What does everyone else think? Any other ideas as to how to save this trope?

I am leaning toward Sickeningly Sweet being the IUEO trope, and the Audiience Reaction having a name that indicates that people have an aversion to the saccharine nature of the work.
This is what I could do for a crowner tomorrow, since it'll be past the three day mark:
- Make Tastes Like Diabetes In-Universe Examples Only and possibly rename (whether to rename would be decided with another crowner), but don't split off Audience Reactions.
- Split Tastes Like Diabetes into an In-Universe Examples Only trope and an Audience Reaction (the pages' names would be decided with separate crowners). Using the current name for one of the two pages would be an option; if neither page uses it, the current name will become a disambiguation page.
- Rename Tastes Like Diabetes, but don't split it or make it In-Universe Examples Only (would not preclude clarifying the description to make the definition more clear).

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I hooked a crowner for whether to split or make this IUEO. I left out renaming because I intend to save voting for whether to rename for after this crowner, so don't panic if you want to rename but don't want to split; if the page isn't split, we'll have a single crowner for whether to rename, and if the page is split, we'll have one crowner per page to decide what the two new pages are called.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Calling in favor of splitting between an Audience Reaction and an IUEO trope.
We'll need to decide on names for both, and I don't have a strong opinion on which page we tackle first, but we'll start with a crowner for one of them and run another one for the other page after that.
I'd appreciate it if someone could compile a list of names for at least one of the two pages; if one has more name suggestions than the other, we could start with the one that has more suggestions and tackle the other one second.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. So far...
As character:
As YMMV:
- Tastes Like Diabetes
- Sweetness Overload
- Saccharine
- Sickeningly Saccharine
- Sickeningly Sugary
- Too Crapsaccharine
- Too Sacchrine Stopped Caring
- Too Sweet Stopped Caring
We could run one of them for now if there are no more naming ideas. The other half may need more time, though Sickeningly Sweet seems to be popular.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI hooked a crowner for the YMMV version since it has the most name suggestions so far. It's possible that some of these names would be usable for the IUEO version if they don't win on this crowner (in particular, Sickeningly Sugary and Sickeningly Saccharine are similar to Sickeningly Sweet, and more people were in favor of Sickeningly Sweet being used for the IUEO trope instead of the YMMV item).
If any of the names that end up lacking sufficient consensus on this crowner would be usable for the IUEO trope, they can go on the second crowner.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I voted for Sweetness Overload, not only because I have suggested it in the first place, but to prevent Too X Stopped Caring snowclones based on Too Bleak, Stopped Caring.
Why?
"Stopped caring" implies being interested in a work before it gets too sweet. In this case, the person never liked a work for being too sweet in the first place, hence Sweetness Overload.

Kirby is awesome. What about Sweetness Aversion? Or Too Sweet For Audiences? The current names don't feel clearly like they're made for audiences only.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I added some more options. I also added Audience Alienating Sweetness since I think I mentioned it before (yeah, that snowclone is probably more old hat than "Too X, Stopped Y", but oh well).

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. All of the entries are fine, but definite no on Crapsaccharine, since I don't want it tied to to unrelated Crapsaccharine World.
That's... actually a typo, clearly crapsack would have nothing to do with this.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWe could do Saccharine Crap as a play on Crapsaccharine, but that feels too complainy
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Unfortunately, probably would invite complaining.
I like it, but a name like that gives me Darth energy.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupPosting this comment to make public that I voted in favor of Sweetness Aversion. I haven't upvoted or downvoted any of the other options.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300I upvoted Sweetness Overload at first, then downvoted it cuz I don't think it's clearly subjective enough.
Upvoted Sweetness Aversion, Too Sweet For Audiences, and Audience Alienating Sweetness cuz they make it more clear.
Downvoted both "Too X Stopped Caring" entries cuz Nen was right that they don't apply to every situation. Also downvoted Too Crapsaccharine cuz that term doesn't work here.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I'm guessing the bullet point for Too Crapsaccharine was supposed to say Too Saccahrine, but I guess it's a moot point since I added the latter on my own and the former (and maybe also the latter) has been downvoted so far. Either way, I didn't know it was a typo and just copied and pasted from that post.
...With that out of the way, now would be a good time to brainstorm names for the IUEO version. Feel free to mention if any of the names on the current crowner would work for an objective trope, and they'll be candidates on the next crowner if they don't end up being the winning option on this one.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Sickeningly Saccharine could work for the IUEO one, as long as it's not too similar to Sickeningly Sweethearts. (Never got the grammar on that trope, BTW.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Suddenly Ethnicity and the now-defunct Suddenly Sexualiity also misus(ed) adverbs as adjectives.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Calling in favor of Sweetness Aversion. Audience Alienating Sweetness and Too Sweet For Audiences will be redirects.
I'll see if anyone would prefer Sweetness Overload, Sickeningly Saccharine, Disgustingly Sweet, Tastes Like Diabetes, Overly Saccharine, Too Saccharine, or Sickeningly Saccharine for the IUEO trope instead, because they don't sound specific to out-of-universe examples like the names that had consensus.
Anyway, get a sandbox ready.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. All right, after I accidentally clicked the wrong button and Morgued the thread instead of hooking a crowner (which I undid, but was embarrassing nonetheless), I hooked a crowner for the IUEO trope. Feel free to sandbox it as well.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Calling in favor of Sickeningly Sweet. Sweetnes Overload will be a redirect.
We'll need sandboxes for both Sickeningly Sweet (the IUEO trope) and Sweetness Aversion (the Audience Reaction). I might be able to copy portions of Tastes Like Diabetes's description to sandboxes (Sandbox.Sickeningly Sweet and Sandbox.Sweetness Aversion).
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Sandbox.Sweetness Aversion was easy to make since Tastes Like Diabetes's description explicitly calls it an Audience Reaction and doesn't really touch upon in-universe examples, meaning I was able to reuse most of its text for Sweetness Aversion's description. The downside is that I had less to work with for Sandbox.Sickeningly Sweet when writing Sickeningly Sweet's description.
Edit: I trimmed a couple of paragraphs from Sandbox.Sweetness Aversion and split some of the paragraphs that were left, and tweaked the wording slightly to make it more clear that the work has to fail for it to apply.
Update: I salvaged some of what I trimmed from Sandbox.Sweetness Aversion and retooled it into text on Sandbox.Sickeningly Sweet in a way that's more suitable for an in-universe reaction. I think I'll see if anyone provides any more input or edits for the sandboxes within three days, and if that doesn't happen, I may move the sandboxes to Main/ three days after that.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I'm aware that I originally planned to handle the split a week ago, but I was sick at the time. Since that's mostly (if not completely) gone, Sweetness Aversion and Sickeningly Sweet are now live.
Tastes Like Diabetes is now a disambiguation page, and here are the wicks. In addition, the on-page examples were moved to Sweetness Aversion, but the examples still need to be sorted through so in-universe examples can be moved to Sickeningly Sweet (which doesn't currently have an example list) and misuse can be removed.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I noted the split in the Renamed Tropes thread and page.

Crown Description:
Tastes Like Diabetes is being split between an Audience Reaction and an IUEO trope. What should the In Universe Examples Only trope's name be?
Too Sweet Stopped Caring sounds great, as is making Sickeningly Sweet IUO.
