OP and wick check look solid so I’m opening the thread.
I also agree that Asexuality should be turned into a disambiguation.

Is there a relevant index for tropes related to asexuality?

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Doesn't seem there is.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesThere was one on the TLP, I think. Was it discarded?
Yeah, that was it.
I can't even tell why it was discarded it may have been rouge discarded (as I like to call it) due to it being an LGBT trope.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesWho discarded it?
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The sponsor discarded it.
Yeah, disambiguate, possibly find someone who could retry that index.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Oh, it was the sponsor I guess that isn't the reason then.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesI don't think that index was needed because we don't have that many tropes explicitly about asexuality, so it's not really worth the split (we do have quite a few "not in a romantic relationship" tropes like those on The Singles Index but tying those up with being ace has some...implications).
But that aside, I'm fine with disambiguating asexuality.

Do we need the index? We don't have that many tropes on asexuality, largely due to the lack of prominent asexual characters in media. The reason that index was discarded is because many tropes had nothing to do with asexuality, they were simply about the lack of sexual or even romantic relationships. ( Sync already made the point, I didn't see it in time)
I think an Asexuality In Media index about works that explicitly feature asexual characters would be more beneficial here.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I second that idea.
Possbly. You should add that to the suggestion at QueerMedia TRS with other indexes.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThe biggest issue I have always seen when it comes to troping Asexualality is that it is not super easy to show a character is asexual without essentially saying it directly, as there are a lot of characters in media that are not interested in romance or sex but aren't confirmed. So I am not surprised we have so few tropes.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesAn index troping ace and aro characters should require them to be canonically aro and/or ace. Otherwise they may fall into tropes like Chaste Hero.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. That would probably be needed. Kind of related but also not I am wondering why we don't have an Ambiguously Asexual trope.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesWe did, and it apparently flopped because, from what I could gather, it had no real criteria, so pretty much any character who doesn't explicitly have sex could be counted.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Looking at that index draft, as was previously mentioned, most of the tropes aren't directly associated with asexuality, and mostly have to do with a lack of romance (despite the existence of Romantic Asexuals). In particular, I don't see what Mistaken for Gay has to do with asexuality — I tend to associate that trope with straight characters being mistaken for being gay.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
Crown Description:
Asexuality has a similar deal to the now-defunct Bi The Way and Transgender, in that asexuality, by itself, is not a trope.
Wick check here, done by myself and ~Piterpicher. Has the exact same problems Bi The Way and Transgender did, and I recommend that similar to those former tropes, it be turned into a disambig containing UsefulNotes.Asexuality, Romantic Asexual, and whatever other asexual tropes/articles we may have.
As an aside I also recommend we move UsefulNotes.Asexuality to UsefulNotes.Asexual so it matches with UsefulNotes.Homosexual and UsefulNotes.Bisexual.
