Nay, because Zeerust is an aestethic not simply an "outdated idea of the future".
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI hollered for the crowner to be hooked. The page quote doesn't seem to fit the trope, and the source link is dead. I also question this in the description:
A work which puts in the effort in world-building a future society is likely to be written worse? I think the bolded part should be replaced with "appeal to a wider audience".

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBump for votes. Should we advertise in ATT?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'll do it.
EDIT: Done.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallJesus, 2 hours and already a big surge in activity! Looks like the ATT bulletin really worked, damn.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallFuture Society, Present Values it is. Calling.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportSo, anything to do besides move the page and clean wicks?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe description might need some work, if this post is anything to go by.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Hmmm. The quote and the quote on the quote's page are both misuse and need to go. I think right now we can do without one unless someone has a suggestion.
We can also chop that paragraph.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo, do we need a sandbox or are we just going to edit the page directly?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSandboxing it first probably wouldn't hurt.

Edit: I just realized the trope has a 20-year waiting period. Is that...is there much of a point to that? It feels pretty objective, and the waiting period reminds me of the one Unintentional Period Piece has/had, which I also think is nonsensical for the same reason. But this is an objective trope, which makes it even worse.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI remember it was just tacked onto the crowner we had for Values Dissonance and Values Resonance on the No Recent Examples Thread, and no one really argued against it.
I'd personally recommend that the waiting period be removed, since I don't think there was really any problem before it was added.
Bump. Any other opinions?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYeah, let's get rid of the waiting period. It was probably lumped with Values Dissonance and Values Resonance because it was mistaken for a sister trope to those two, due to the "Marches On" in the name.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I deleted that line. Any other changes we need?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think the "This is the social equivalent to Zeerust" sentence should be moved from the top of the page to the beginning of the paragraph that mentions that the trope is the inverse of Politically Correct History, but I don't strongly oppose keeping the sandbox as-is.
Edit: Here's how the Politically Correct History paragraph would look with that change:

I went ahead and made the change.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. So, now we need it to be moved to the new name, right?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI can't think of anything else. Maybe it would be a good idea to ask the mods to put the sandbox in place at Main.Future Society Present Values in the Locked Pages thread.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Eh, a holler will probably do the trick.

Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
Huh. Didn't realize we have Zeerust, which apparently covers both the technological and social aspect of an "outdated" future. Does that make this trope redundant then?
