Despite being around since 2008, Soft Reset has only 29 wicks and 16(I think- it's definitely less than 30, at least) on-page examples, and I think it's because it's written as a Useful Notes page.

wick check (work pages that list it as a trope only)
  • LetsPlay.Twitch Plays Pokemon Red: "After this happened once, it was disabled." In-Universe
  • VideoGame.Adventure: "Used as an infinite lives feature. All the objects will remain where they were, but the dragons will be alive again." Says that it exists and that it's useful
  • VideoGame.Karoshi: "Some of Karoshi 2.0's puzzles require you to go back to the main menu." Only says that it exists
  • VideoGame.Legionwood: "The F12 button, like in all RPG Maker games." Lists a button used for the soft reset
  • VideoGame.Makai Toshi Sa Ga: "The inclusion of this feature is notable mainly because of the sheer amount of Save Scumming one tends to do in this game." Says that it exists and that it's useful
  • VideoGame.Ni No Kuni: "An option from the pause menu. Can make it easier to catch elusive enemies like the Tokos, or help with creatures that have long respawn timers (like the Lumberwood) appear more frequently." Says that it exists and that it's useful
  • VideoGame.Ogre Battle 64: "Z + Start + A + B. It doesn't save a lot of time, though." Lists a button combo for performing it
  • VideoGame.Super Mario Land: "As with most Game Boy games, you can reset to the title screen by pressing select, start, B, and A at the same time." Lists a button combo for performing it
  • VideoGame.Tenchu: "By holding Start+Select." Lists a button combo for performing it
  • VideoGame. The Matrix Path Of Neo: "From the pause menu." Only says that it exists
  • VideoGame. The World Ends With You: "Unique in that the 'return to title' option is only given after you've died. (Or Start, Select, L and R.)" Lists a button combo for performing it
  • VideoGame.Fern Game Series: "The replay buttons when you die." Says what the soft reset is
  • WebVideo.Game Grumps: "Jon is ignorant of this function, and his speedrun of Super Mario Land comes to an end once he accidentally triggers it." In-Universe
  • WebComic.Aetheria Epics: "You can always hit the New Game button at any time in the archives. The run won't change, though." Fairly certain this is an In-Universe example
  • WebComic.Problem Sleuth: "When prompted, selecting the command to press the shoulder buttons, start, and select will take you to the title screen. Then you have to start the entire comic all over again." Fairly certain this is an In-Universe example
So, for 15 pages with it listed as a trope, 27% are In-Universe, 33% don't say what it is, and 40% say what it is. Additionally, one of the "says what it is" examples doesn't really count since the trope page says that restart buttons are too common to be listed as examples (a la "People Sit on Chairs"). While I personally think that this page should become a useful notes page, I really don't know what should be done to it.

Putting this on hold because the case isn't super strong and we currently have too many threads in TRS.
