Audience Coloring Adaptation Cleanup Thread

I'm opening up a Cleanup Thread for Audience-Coloring Adaptation because I've recently misused the trope horribly.

On the SD Gundam Force YMMV sub-page and the proper page for the trope itself, I made the following edits;

• Audience-Coloring Adaptation: The SD Gundam sub-franchise suffers from Americans Hate Tingle overseas because this was the first work in the sub-franchise to be released outside of Japan after several more serious shows had been released, and gave Westerners the impression that SD Gundam is nothing but childish plots and humor in an otherwise mature franchise, ignoring the Cerebus Syndrome that kicks in later.
• Under the Gundam example...
  • SD Gundam gets constantly derided by fans for being "kiddy" and "silly" compared to the more serious mainline works, and as such is looked down upon for "trying to dumb down" the franchise as whole. The main culprit for this perception? SD Gundam Force, which received immediate backlash due to Toonami deciding to air it around the same time they aired more typical Gundam shows (Gundam Wing, G Gundam, the original series, SEED, etc) which had stark contrasting tones and Gundams that "look too cutesy". This later leaked onto perception towards the sub-franchise as a whole, with fans declaring it a blemish. The two works that got hit the hardest with this are the two Anime series that came after Force (Brave Battle Warriors and Sangoku Soketsuden), with people once again judging the Gundam designs again, and writing both off as childish drivel. The thing is, while the claims about some SD Gundam works being more silly and childish aren't EXACTLY inaccurate, a good number of them still contain a good number of serious moments to them that you would expect from a Gundam work, they just don't go as hard as the main Gundam works do on the darker and more depressing aspects of their stories, and also contain more lighthearted and comedic moments to balance things out. And the claims that Force is just "a silly kids show'' aren't even entirely accurate, as it only acts like that for the first couple of episodes before it gets more serious about its world and characters (Though granted, there are still some silly moments here and there).

I have since taken the edits down, but I still misused the trope and made vast generalizations of two fandoms, and I worry that someone might repeat the same mistake I made.

So I would like to ask that from now on, this thread be used to debate whether examples people want to add count as examples before including them, like Magnificent Bastard and Moral Event Horizon.

We only do that for Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard. No other trope/audience reaction/whatever needs that kind of management.

Also don't see why you made a LTP thread for this trope in particular considering the small wick count, but I suppose it wouldn't be bad to go through and check to see if anyone's using it to complain (also found a "this is this" usage after looking at a random wick, so we'd to check for that as well.

I already hollered for this to be moved to Short-Term Projects- if there’s issues with the trope, we can do a wick check and bring it to TRS.
