Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

Hazemaster, after realizing he was late, he took to the the same dropship he got into to fight the Legion of Doom and went to the party.

Kirby then shows off his Treatling friends to the other guests. He then runs back into the Spacepod and gets his strange wand

Magolor, meanwhile, talks to 6k1 regarding the Treatlings.

"The Treatlings are here, too?" 6k1 asks Magolor. "Do keep an eye on them, don't want those Starbles to be munching on them."
She looks at Mimi and Arcturus and hopes that they don't sneak away from their sitter and owner, respectively, and cause a ruckus in the base. She also greets Mr. Godzilla and sees Mewtwo set up the Switch.
"Hey guys!" she says, waving her controller, "who wants to play Mario Kart with me?"
Kirby also shows her the magic wand. "Interesting..."
Meanwhile, Miranda and Heart check out the theater and watch cartoons with Lemmy.
"We used to watch these at the local cinema back in the day!" says Heart. "They were my favorite!"
"Same here, but now I love Coltrean drama! I'm invested in serious plots, especially if they involve criminal cases!"
Ralsei also spots his Pokémon friends and approaches them, holding Frisk's hand.
"First off," he says to Aaron, "this is what I look like without my hat. And secondly, this is my 'cousin' from the Underground."
The Child waves hi to them. Toriel also approaches them and introduces herself.
"Now that we've put the Legion behind us, we can all catch up with what we've missed! How are you?"
While Twilight asks the other nominators around about the genuine cooking school, Power finds the buffet table and munches on the quesadillas. She looks up and trots towards her best friend.
"Hey Ich—" she makes an Aside Glance at the other Ichigo, "I mean, Mr. Montoya, glad that you're doing okay! What do you wanna do here? Watch cartoons? Play the Switch? Just have a chitchat with me?"

"Let's do the last one. Why'd Six and Billy bring their alien pets here? Methinks putting those two voracious fuzzballs in a big public party is a surefire recipe for a ruckus."

"Mimi wanted to join us, too, but don't worry, 6k1 double checked her muzzle and put a GPS tracker on her collar, but same can't be said for Arcturus..."
Meanwhile, Sans sits next to 6k1 and gets a controller.
"ya know what? i heard rumors about another underground where it's a racin' track, so why not?"
"Sure thing! Wanna wait for two more players?"
"i don't see why not."

Unexpected Guests
Mr. Godzilla saw the Dark Star arrive alongside the members of Scipion's group, much to his confusion.
MG: Hey, MD, uh how did those guys get the invitation?
MD: You didn't tell me not to send it over.
MG: That doesn't means sending an invitation to Scipion was a good idea!
MD: Welp, this was certainly not my best choice.
MG: It's not, you nitwit.
MD: Well. What's done is done. Reminder to wipe that letter off the face of the planet.
MG: How about you make yourself useful and check on Bale's cooking?
MD: Right ahead, yeehaw!
He dashed off to the kitchen to see Bale, while MG sorted out the buffet table, it not only had quesadillas, it had fried shrimp, pizza, spaghetti, lasagna, hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, noodles, rice, cake, chocolate fountain and various other dishes that Bale and his base's cooking system had made. The trays were served by small butler bots.
MG: They're all enjoying it, look at Twilight, Pigmon.
The small friendly monster saw Twilight and approached her with the intention of greeting her. Meanwhile, MG saw that Bale's own guests had arrived.
MG: Oh good, you're all here!
They were Bale's acquaintances and others from AR Worlds, Charlie Magnet, Alastor, Ryuzaki, Gale, Trixie, Lapis, Jamie, Amethyst, Ryutaros and even Pythor.
MG: Oh, you guys are here. Great, make yourselves comfortable. We'll have lots of fun! Help yourself to the buffet, watch some cartoons and movies or play that console over there.
They all scrambled to do their own things for now, all picking something different each.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."
"Hoo boy... least Six is Batman-level prepared as always. Anywho, this party's pretty noice."

"Heh, you should thank Bale for this. Consider this as both a victory party celebrating the fall of the Legion and an apology one for all the trouble they caused."
Power then sees Bale's tributes arrive and excuses herself to see Gale and Trixie. Twilight, meanwhile, waves hi to Pigmon, then looks for the chef behind the meals. They all look delicious, whoever cooked them is worthy of opening a cooking school!
Not far away from the table, Mimi smells the delicious food and tries wiggling out of her leash. Fluttershy feels the tug and pulls her back.
"Now now, those are for the guests, not just you..."
Meanwhile, Heart excuses herself from the theater to grab some healthy snacks, waving to Ichi while at it. Still waiting for other players, 6k1 and Sans think of who to main.
"I'll play as Yoshi! He's my favorite!"
"just like the other azzy?"
"Heehee, yep! I just wish my Azzy joined us..."
"don't make that sad face, 6k1, i'm sure y'all meet again someday... anyhoo, i wonder who i should play as... so many choices..."

Daorach's group walked around and eventually split up around the party.
He eats some pizza.
"I'll see about sending him a little token of my appreciation when I get home, Pow-Pow."
Kirby
Bale's Base
King Dedede, Bandana Dee, and Ribbon picks up some food. Dedede then goes near 6k1 who is playing something.
"Hey, pal! What'cha playing?"
Ribbon later goes near 6k1, asking her if she spotted anymore Treatlings. Meanwhile, Kirby feeds the Treatlings candy.
Star Angel Palace
Mr. Star is studying pictures of the Nominators in his bridge. He then spots Bale's Base nearby. He sends a message to 6k1 and Bale, saying hi to them.

She laughs to herself, realizing the hypocrisy regarding her gift.
Meanwhile, Magolor's group approaches 6k1 and Sans, asking them about the Treatlings and their game, respectively.
"mario kart!" says Sans after picking Mario, "wanna join us?"
6k1 picks Light Blue Yoshi and assembles her kart. She looks around and spots Kirby... feeding the Treatlings with nonsentient food?!
"Uh... is that cannibalism?"
"muffet uses spiders as ingredients in her pastries, but that's normal for her!"
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
Léodagan, the Bloodthirsty
Bale's base
Mewtwo did a quick glare at the Cosmic Crusaders.
"Hmph. I wasn't expecting other mortals from my world here." he grunted.
"You're acting like it's a bad thing."
Ori jumped out of Giegue's shoulder and started to wander around, with Giegue following close by.
Eventually, the Rescue Squad, the Blue Wings, and their allies eventually arrived at the party. To Aaron's relief, Scipion wasn't here yet. Immediately, the Blue Wings went on their separate ways with James politely waving at Ralsei and co.
"Hey everyone!" Aaron said. Then, Ralsei, Frisk, and Toriel approached the group. Aaron was about to hug them when Tokage restrained him.
"Aaron. Your spike." the Grovyle warned.
"Oh, right! Sorry about that."
"Nice to meet you! Glad that everyone's doing well after the battle with the Legion!"
Eventually, food was served and Alex, obviously, was one of the first to eat.
Aaron then noticed Mewtwo in the distance. Confused, he then saw Lemmy next to him.
Wait... Mewtwo? Is he-
Scipion's tribute, alas. the legendary mentally replied.
Huh? How did you-
Mind-reading, Lucario. Worry not, we both hold the Zoroark in low esteem.
Aaron sighed in relief. He knew how dangerous Mewtwo could be when enraged. He didn't seem to be as ferocious as people tended to describe him.
Lucian blushed, intimidated by all of the people around him. Suddenly, Proteus spotted a fly flying above the buffet table. Before Tokage could reason with his father, the wild Greninja jumped on the table and chased after it.
Immediately, Lemmy saw that people were gathering around his Switch and ran to get his controller before choosing himself for obvious reasons.
"Uh? Sans Undertale? You're in my other game!" he happily exclaimed.
Near Bale's base
Scipion's group eventually arrived. As he said, Giratina sat down, choosing to stay behind. Scipion stood close to him.
"Remember. No troubles."
"Yes boss!" Onox exclaimed before entering the base, followed by Clyde. Morgan smirked viciously at Scipion before following them.
"Now my dear. Remember. Be a good Hydreigon." Persephone said to Cerberus, who growled angrily before following its mistress. The old Mismagius gave one last look at Scipion before leaving.
Eventually, the Zoroark felt slightly dizzy.
"Ugh, I don't feel so good..."
"Do not worry. If you feel like you want to rest, do it. I am watching over you."
Scipion sighed and curled into a ball, sleeping. Unknown to him, Persephone's potion started to take effect.

"Don't sweat it!" says 6k1. "Let's think of which Cup to take while we wait!"
Meanwhile, Ralsei waves back to James while Toriel pulls Frisk away from Aaron.
"Sorry about that, we'll just hug you from behind."
Frisk nods and does so. They then see Alex make a beeline for the buffet table and follow him, with Toriel and Ralsei tagging along.
Power ducks as soon as Proteus jumps on the table. "Hey, watch it!"
Mimi just stares from afar and drools. Anything she'll do to get a bite...
As for Miranda, she leaves the theater and finds a jukebox. She was about to turn it on when Scipion enters the hall. She warns everyone on her earpiece about him, but the Zoroark suddenly falls asleep.
"As long as he doesn't suddenly wake up and ambush us, we'll be fine..."
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
Kirby
Bale's Base
King Dedede then walks away and gorges on the food.
Kirby and Ribbon then introduce the Treatlings to the Rescue Squad, and later Pecan and Tabby and their group.
The House
Adeleine has, surprisingly, made residence in the house where she found Kirby's wand. She reads a comic book/manga while laying on the bed. Rick the Hamster arrives in the room and tells her about the Winter's End situation.

6k1 checks her messages and asks Mr. Star if he wants to join them. She still wonders why he didn't join them in the Nominator Games, but considering all the horrors she and her friends went through, she doesn't ask him that.
Miranda then turns on the jukebox and dances to some oldies songs. Ralsei and Mimi roll their eyes while Toriel and Heart bop along.
"There better be a Linkin Park song next."

Light and Hope
Dave's Home Base
At last, the list is ready. However, due to the sheer size, it seems like Hans will have to divide them into three groups, counting the additions.
Just as he finishes sorting things up, Starfall enters the room, having fully recovered and ready to depart. At the same time, a portal opens, and Dave and Fira step out of it.
"Oh, finally! For jolly's sake, where have you two been?" Hans asks the new couple.
"Just traveling around. Gets our minds out. And having dinner in Le Grand Bistrot."
"Geez, I'm kind of envious. Say, isn't it past time for your birthday?" Hans asks to both Dave and Starfall.
"Really? Huh, I must have missed the memo, what with the recent things. And you lucky couple are indeed lucky, spending time around while I'm gonna be in the Arena again."
"Err.... is it bad that I haven't thought of a birthday present yet? I think I'm starting to hyperventilate."
"Please don't," Dave and Starfall say in unison. The two blinked, before the former continues. "I don't truly need any sort of present. As long as I have those I cherish, I'll always have an irreplaceable gift."
"Can I at least give you something?" Fira asks, blushing.
".... Yes?" Dave replies uncertainly.
She says nothing, but kisses him on the cheek. The two then remain silent, looking at each other while blushing madly. Hans and Starfall are left staring in a stunned confusion.
".... What? It's the only thing I imagine I could give straight away!"
".... It doesn't matter. Don't you say sorry, I know you're going to do it. Because there's nothing to apologize for."
"Still, I'll get the both of you an actual present later, okay?"
"Sure, at your convenience. Well, Celestia smite me, I'd never really thought I'd see the both of you in a relationship."
"Frankly, none of us do," the other three somehow answer in unison. Everyone blinks, before bursting into wild laughter.
Afterwards, Starfall departs to the Arena, but not before telling Dave and Fira to say hi to Power for him. A droid servant then appears.
"My liege, your tributes have arrived. They are in the transportation rooms."
"Thank you for telling us."
The droid bows before leaving. The three then heads there, but not before Hans creates a data recreation of Mike Shinoda, which he sends to the Arena, and another of him and the rest of his Linkin Park bandmates, whom he sends to the transportation room.
"Why are you sending them with us?"
"Can't go too wrong with a little concert, right? I had sent some words to the construction men stationed there to add an extra concert stage."
Flashback: Bale's Base
As the construction continued, Duncan remembered something.
"Mr. Xochi, Mr. Hans would like to mention that he'd be happy to provide an additional concert stage, since he has plans for a band to perform in the party. I'd like to have your approval before we begin."
Dave's Home Base, Present Time
Soon enough, everyone is sorted into three groups.
Team A consists of Dave himself, Fira, Nemo, Starlight Glimmer, both versions of DJ Pon-3, the Rainbooms, the Hero of Time, his love interest Malon, his first companion Navi, the Skull Kid, his two companions and siblings Tatl and Tael, the LP members, and Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher's gang.
Team B consists primarily of tributes from the Fullmetal Alchemist universe, with the Elric brothers, Winry Rockbell, General Roy Mustang, Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye, and Major Alex Louis Armstrong, as well as the Hero of the Wild and his Zelda.
Team C consists of the Hero of Winds, his sister Aryll, his love interest Tetra (the Zelda of his age, though she dislikes being called Zelda), Mrs. Bradley, her adopted son Selim (formerly the Homunculus Pride), an alternate Geras who had helped in dealing with Lord English a while back, and Ninten and the first Chosen Four.
Once everyone was sorted out, Hans bids them farewell, and the groups then leave to Bale's base in alphabetical order.
Bale's Base
After some waiting, Duncan decides to recheck his ship, and finds a supply of musical instruments. Perfect. He quickly orders his men to begin setting up the new stage with the instruments.
Meanwhile, Dave's groups arrive.
"We're here, at last! Sorry for being so late. To quote Axel: Had a couple of plot points that needed ironing out."
Wild bursts into giggles. "Pfft, you said 'couple'. Yeah, considering what we've heard, no kidding."
Dave rolls his eyes. "Right, no pun intended there. Geez, leave my private life alone. Anyway, shouldn't you guys be ready to perform?" he eyes the two bands and the DJ duo. They nod, and leave to head to the backstage.
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."
Kirby
Bale's Base
A fish-like vehicle arrives at Bale's Base, and the Chosen Four; Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo, steps out. Ness is accompanied by his younger sister, Tracy.
Ness allows his friends to try some of the foods. When he sees Frisk, he quickly runs up to them and hugs Frisk.
"Frisk, my pal! What's up?" Ness then introduces Tracy to Frisk.
Meanwhile, Jeff sees Sans. He then says "Oh my, a real life monster, again!" Jeff then tells Sans that his kind has fascinated Jeff.
After that, Ness sees Kirby and happily greets him. Ness then goes to Paula and eats some of the food alongside her.
Star Angel Palace
Mr. Star messages 6k1 that he is busy.

Ruler of Everything
Weird
Tabby looks at the dishes being brought out to the buffet. She licks her lips but restraints herself. She sees some more guests arriving and tries to greet them,the first being Hazemaster and his pet Chain Chomps. Pecan gets dragged into this as well.
"Hey there,Hazemaster. We haven't met formally but your first impression of me trying to kill Bale wasn't good. You do understand I wasn't myself."
"Anyway,how are you? They've just brought some food out so you and your dogs can get something to munch on."
"Congrats on getting in the Battle Royale! Anyway,we got to go speak with some others so if you see us around,we can chat!"
They bid farewell to him and wave to get Montoya's attention.
"Glad you can make it,Montoya!"
"Hello!"
"Just wanted to say hello but we'll be heading to the snack bar to have some of Bale's cooking. Hopefully it's not as bad as mine."
They head to the buffet table to look at the options available. Then,Proteus jumps on the table.
"The hell?"
Meanwhile...
"Gah,I'm hungry. Shouldn't come here on a empty stomach."
"Food was just brought out so how about we head on over there?"
"Okay!"
"Yeah,I hope the food is good! I heard it's homemade."
They also find Tabby and her guests at the buffet staring at the Greninja with shock.
"Come on,that's unsanitary!"
"Yeah,let's wait until this dies down."
August turns around to someone very familiar enter the base. She gets the attention of Charlotte and Cassiopeia.
"Guys? He's here,fun's over."
"Oh it's him. I'm little worried about Morgan attacking one of us but let's stay way."
"Affirmative."
"Wait,he fell asleep. Everything's fine."
"Well that was anti-climatic,nyaa."
"Whatever,going to talk with Power."
Parallel Pecan walks away from the table.
She finds Power talking to Ichigo.
"Hey there,Power. So,karaoke right? Pretty fun. Definitely going to go next even though I'm awful at it."
The Buffet
"Ooh,Dave's here!"
"Yep,he brought a lot of guests here bur I"m tired to greet him. Probably might hang here for bit."
"Whatever floats your boat."

"Alright, I'll just go look for another table where I can't be seen by him or the other guests."
Power was about get up when Dave and his tributes arrive. Everyone turns around.
"Pause the game Sans and Lemmy, my brother's here!"
6k1 goes to him and gives him her gift: three figurines of Marlin, Nemo, and Dory. The former two are holding rocket launchers while the latter's holding a butcher's knife.
"I bought this from the Library's gift shop since I didn't have much time. I'll never forget their expertise at Improbable Weapon Usage. Belated happy birthday, bro."
Sans pauses the game and gets up to greet the others. He and Power laugh at Dave's Accidental Pun.
"'fore ya ask where carlos is, wild, he was too busy with school, as usual. that, and he got a tad traumatized from watchin' pow-pow's plight."
"Sans, I'm trying to move on from that! Anyway..."
Power goes to Dave, waving hi to Nemo on the way, and gives him her gift for Starfall: a Gryffindor scarf.
"Drew it myself. Just give this to him after the season, and tell him I said hi and belated happy birthday."
Toriel also giggles at the pun while Twilight and Fluttershy meet up with Starlight.
"Long time no see! How's the School of Friendship going?"
"And the Rainbooms are here?"
"Oh, right! I'll go ask my human counterpart how she's doing after their gig!"
Mimi brushes up against Dave's leg. "UNCLE DAVE!!!"
Ralsei, meanwhile, squees when he sees his favorite band while Ness introduces his little sister to Frisk.
"Aww..."
Jeff also tells Sans that he's been studying about his race.
"uh... ya coulda just gone down and met us in person. we're no longer enemies to humans."
Parallel Pecan then asks Power about karaoke.
"My mom and aunt are just over there dancing to their favorite songs on the jukebox! It also has a karaoke system!"

Dave's Base
Kirby happily greets every member of Dave's groups. He later does this to Bill's groups as well. He also introduces his new wand and the Treatlings to them and their groups.

She enters the portal with 6k1 in hand. Pecan also follows along too.
They enter the repaired base together and look around at the people already there. She notices the Cosmic Crusaders who have arrived already with that new member they've mentioned as well as Ichigo and Parallel Pecan. She goes up to them sharing some talk together.
"Hihi everyone!"
"Hey,we haven't seen you in a bit! How's life?"
"Pretty meh, we've met with 6k1 and I've had a really bad dream."
"Anyway,who's the new guy?"
"Oh,I'm August. Nice to meet you, Tabby! I heard good things about you."
"Thanks!"
"That's wonderful. Now, should we talk to the others?"
"Yeah,I think so."
"Great!"
The group walks up to where MD is.
"Hey there,do you where Bale is? I just want to thank him for this great party."
"Make sure no one possesses you when you're eating sweets!"
"Heheheh,yeah..."
"Oh,is there food here? I'll won't raid the dessert bar for once."
"Heh,you're the one to talk. That Fox of Death isn't here yet so now is the calm before the storm."
"Oh,he's coming?! Oh no no."
"Relax,if you're on the Nominator's side, he'll won't hurt you but he tried to kill some of them a while back."
"The only nominator he killed outside of the games I think was Tabby but she was under the influence of something bad and she was resurrected afterward."
"Hey,can we not?"
"I apologize on her behalf."
They then tried to have some small talk with others who are here. Tabby starts telling stories to them.
