Okay! I actually managed to find a program that lets me split stuff into smaller clips, so I actually managed to attempt uploading five videos all by myself!...though for some reason one of them won't play. I wonder if it's the subtitles on it messing up the feed. Oh well. I hope I managed to get the rest of the ones I uploaded right. Expect to see more videos from me soon!
So, question: What determines whether a video is able to play when uploaded here or not? I attempted to upload two videos here, both from the same larger video file, and one of them was able to play while the other wasn't. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I get the feeling I know what the problem is, but I'm curious as to what determines whether a clip is able to play on here when uploaded or not.
I'm pretty sure the Caleb Hyles video for Cover Version is nearly the entire song.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยขIt is. It's including a good two thirds of the song which is definitely excessive.
Just a heads up and I'm not sure if anyone brought this up before, but the video feature seems to have been updated. On the main videos page, you can now select "My Videos" and sort videos by recent/oldest/highest-rated/lowest-rated.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)It's actually a good feature but there is a problem, I can't seem to access any of my older videos when I go to the next page, as it will send me to the Recent Videos next page instead of My Videos next page.
Only my "Approved" videos are visible on my side of Recent Videos, I can no longer see which ones are "Denied" or "Awaiting Review"
I have things to do and daddy issues to repress!Make sure you have upload_status=any (or all, I haven't got any awaiting approval at the moment to test if there's a difference) & approval_status=all in the address bar.
Shouldn't have to do it like this, but there doesn't seem to be any other options at the moment.
How do I see the Upload Status of my videos?
Try this, should take you right to your videos:
You can only see your own videos, so make sure the troper name matches yours.
Its not letting me use it
Did you change the troper= part to match your username?
There is no "troper=" part. It's just white space with "I'm afraid I can't let you do that".
I have reason to believe that most if not all of the LOCAL58 videos use entire videos from the channel, even when only a small part would accurately show the trope/actually involves it.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยขDoes anyone know if it's possible to edit a video you uploaded even after it got approved? The reason I bring this up is that I uploaded a video for Grey's Anatomy that I found on You Tube, but I forgot to cut out the advertisement for the show shown briefly at the end before I decided to upload it.
No, you can't edit videos after uploading. All you can change is the title, description, and media sources.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. That stinks. Oh well. Lesson learned: Make sure your videos don't have content that's not relevant to the trope being referenced in question before editing and uploading.
You can, however, delete the video, edit your local copy, and reupload it.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. How exactly do you delete a video I uploaded again? I'm still kinda new to this, so there's still a lot for me to learn.
Go to the video examples on the trope page (can't edit them anywhere else for some reason), click edit videos, click the gear icon on your video and click delete video.
I uploaded a video for There's No Kill like Overkill but forgot to link the source media (Megas XLR). I went to the edit, added the source, clicked submit, and it said it was successfully updated, but it's still not showing up even a day afterward. Do the updates have to be mod approved as well? Or what do I do?

Something seems up with video compression. Yesterday, I recorded videos for Diagonal Cut, Shock and Awe and Telephone Polearm from Mike Shadow: I Paid for It!, all in high resolution (recorded directly from the expanded game window at 1280x736 because that's how my software does it at 1280x, it doesn't look bad), and the Diagonal Cut vid is high-quality at 1280x664 which is a minor and understandable compression, while Shock and Awe and Telephone Polearm vids were compressed to 426x224, making them look poor for even my standards. Tried uploading two vids today for Sinister Scythe and Chainsaw Good (currently awaiting permission), and the former was uploaded at 960x468 which is okayish, while the latter was uploaded at 426x224 again.
I don't think this has anything to do with filesize. The Diagonal Cut vid was 3 MB pre-upload, while Chainsaw Good was 1.43 MB pre-upload. This is probably something done by Vimeo, and I'm not sure why the first video of the day I upload looks fine while the later ones are gimped. Are we potentially running out of space? Was this something that has been done from the very beginning? This doesn't seem to happen to other videos, which suggests that there could be a problem with my computer, but I dunno, I haven't seen this happen before to my vids either when I uploaded a lot one day. Please help.

Tropes with links to multiple examples such as Berserk Button should go in their respective folders such as Berserk Buttons in Western Animation because some tropes are Trope Overdosed and there are lots of examples to show.
