See here for Nightmare Fuel, which has frequent enough problems to deserve a thread of its own.
A while ago, I made a thread for cleaning up Nightmare Fuel pages, since they tend to attract all sorts of gushing about anything vaguely unsettling, as well as violations of Example Indentation and the Spoiler Policy among other problems. Well, other Moments pages have similar issues, though to a slightly lesser extent, so they may as well have a cleanup thread too.
"Moments" reactions should:
- Be free of spoiler tags, in accordance with the Spoilers Off policy which states that:
Fridge, Headscratchers, and the various Moments subpages (Tear Jerker, Moment of Awesome, etc.) are for post-viewing discussions. Spoiler tagging there defeats the purpose of the articles. You shouldn't be going there if you are worried about them.
- Be based on things that actually have happened, not things that could happen, will happen, or might have happened. Speculation belongs only on the Wild Mass Guessing pages.
- Have affected the writer of the entry themselves. If you don't find something funny or sad, let someone who did add it to Funny Moments or Tear Jerker.
- Elicit a strong reaction. Not every single time a character accomplishes something is an Awesome Moment, not every attempt at comedy is a Funny Moment, not every time someone does something nice is a Heartwarming Moment, and not every unhappy event is a Tear Jerker.
- Explain why they're so awesome/funny/sad: Zero Context Examples aren't allowed on this wiki. Your description should allow anyone to understand your reaction.

Found this on Tumblr:
- The sheer prevalence of Tumblr's signature Black Comedy can make you realize just how screwed up today's kids are. If you're not on that boat yourself.
A complaining example, general example, and "ok, boomer" moment all in one. Cut.

There's a couple other Real Life moments on that page that can also be cut. Another gem:
- Being blocked by a blog you like without adequate explanation can be this.
Real life troping that additionally sounds like it violates Examples Are Not General. Cut.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallAre any of the examples in Awesome.Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout worth saving? One commentor on the IP thread noted that they're likely all meta examples.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm not getting much of a meta feeling from those remaining examples. "Winning" can qualify because the game literally has a special, relieving animation if you win.
The hacker example comes off to me as more "game design allows hackers to be easily removed by other players without reporting them", which IMO is rather awesome.

While “meta” isn’t the word I’d use to describe it, “winning” is still an “individual’s gameplay.” I fail to see why this game is any different, and if anything, the victory animations themselves are better fits for funny moments than awesome moments.
OTOH, anything that regards game design is pretty much exactly what “meta” means.
SoundCloudFunny.Doom has this section:
Game Reviews
- The EDGE review, starting with the infamous line "If only you could talk to the monsters..."
- Over twenty years down the line, a review like that turned from missing the point to being surreally, amusingly prescient. There are now games where you can talk to the monsters. Or form alliances. Quite a few, actually.
- And, of course, there's H-Doom, a mod that gained... controversy.
- Except games where you could talk to the monsters and form alliances already existed by the time of Doom's release. There were various RPG and action games where non-violent interaction with 'enemies' was possible, and games like Shin Megami Tensei had exactly those features of talking with monsters and forming alliances, making the review less 'prescient' and more 'ignorant'.
- Over twenty years down the line, a review like that turned from missing the point to being surreally, amusingly prescient. There are now games where you can talk to the monsters. Or form alliances. Quite a few, actually.
- GamePro's infamous "PRO TIP: Shoot the Cyberdemon until it dies." It's fake—the "magazine scan" is Photoshopped together—but it's funny all the same.
The problems here are obvious: the first quickly devolves into natter and Hilarious in Hindsight shoehorning, while the second outright admits it's not from a real review, and they're both meta moments. I'm going to cut both of them.
And nothing of value was lost.
(Of course there was a bloody Undertale shoehorn, because no game before that ever had non-violent gameplay.)
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdI don't think I've ever felt quite as much animosity towards a game I haven't played as I do Undertale, and it's entirely due to the fandom (at least as demonstrated on this site).

Oh don't worry, the game itself is insufferable too.
This is a cleanup thread, not Complaining About Games You Don't Like thread. (Ironically my experience with Undertale on this site is people shoehorning in complainy examples about it...)

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Fair enough. And honestly, I had those in mind too - the main point is that I'm sick of seeing connections to it shoehorned in. (I mean, yeah, spurious connections to popular works are an omnipresent and perpetual thing on TV Tropes, but Undertale always seemed unusually bad about it.) But I'll drop this now.
This is on Cars, in reference to the "Our Town" scene:
Even CinemaSins thought so; despite having a low opinion on the movie, Jeremy is compelled to remove a sin for the song no matter what else happens.
That doesn't sound too bad.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."That's natter if nothing else.
SoundCloudBumping my request to inspect the Scottish football entry on Awesome.Sports. It's really hard to read anything particularly awesome in the Hibs losing.
I recently realized that The Other Wiki has a Funny page. Is it valid in any way?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportA lot of the entries are about vandalism and edit warring, but the page has some decent context examples on amusing pages on the site. Though barring the vandals, it's all unintentionally funny. IDK if troping vandalism is an issue with Wikipedia's page, since our own wiki's Funny page lists vandalism there.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Alright. I'll let it stay, then.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI found Awesome.Bloons Monkey City, where every example is player accomplishments. Sounds like an easy cut?
- There's a horrifying Mood Whiplash right at the end of the mostly wacky and lighthearted Make Mine Music. We speak, of course, of The Whale Who Wanted To Sing At The Met, the story of Willie, an opera-singing whale who dreams of being a star despite the species barrier, and a crazed sailor Tetti-Tatti who is convinced that the singing is a result of Willie having swallowed opera singers. The majority of the short is light-hearted wacky cartoon gags, as Willie sings a repertoire of his best songs and Tetti-Tatti is foiled in his every attempt to harpoon Willie (as his own crew love the singing so much they don't allow him). And then, just as the short winds to a close, suddenly Tetti-Tatti takes the harpoon gun and does the deed. The music stops as we see the absolute heartbreaking silhouette of a harpooned Willie leaping from the water one last time before sinking beneath the sea. Just to drive the point home, we see Willie's seagull friend sitting by the sea, sobbing uncontrollably as the narrator tries to soothe him. The sadness is mitigated only slightly by the reveal that Willie now plays sold-out shows in heaven. Disney dealt with some deep issues here - some of us won't realize our dreams before we die, and that this world is full of people who "aren't used to miracles" and will destroy them.
This is an extremely wrll written and memorable entry! Why was it removed? And to make it worse the editor took no care to put it elsewhere! Sorry if i come across as rude but this entry deserves a place.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. From TearJerker.Disney, right? That entry was deleted in 2015. It's maybe a little long, but I don't see the problem with it. I think the only reason it was deleted is for being in the "Other" folder, which was completely removed for no apparent reason.
Reposting from the "Is this an example?" thread since I got no response:
I want to axe an example from Awesome.Sports:
I read this example as "awesome thing didn't happen" (since the Hibs didn't get a win against the Hearts), hence I am questioning why is this even on the page.
