To restate my thoughts on the ATT thread, I do think most of it can stay. The only thing we know is untrue is the 'lifelong fan' thing he says in the video, Wich the entry is not reliant on. Parts can be reworded and the whole thing between Harris and RT can just go.

If that's removed I would have objectively NO objections. That should be done.

Do we still have more to discuss or are we done here?

I'm open to some reworking, but as I mentioned, the entry doesn't really say anything about Hbomberguy's past opinions. It wouldn't surprise me if it was written with that in mind. The entry as-written works as well if he's a lifelong fan or openly hated Monty up until his passing and only started liking him then.

Right, we just need to reword it to not lie about H's true opinions. The reaction itself remains legitimate.

@AegisP Wanted to let you know that (in case the green text didn't already say it) Undermined By Reality is now a disambiguation per a fairly recent TRS.

I'll repeat this question since it was buried at the end if the last page. Larkman called out that I never linked to HB's past comments. Is that something people actually want to see? Because my takeaway from this and the ATT thread is that the moments as written on the page aren't affected by the validity of some of HB's claims or not.

I do not think it's necessary personally. The situation seems to have been resolved at this point. Perhaps conversing with Lark over DM and showing it there could be the best.

Late to the party but I'd cut the Broken Base entry mentioned on the last page entirely. The only people who would be inclined to dislike the video are RWBY fans, who l'm not sure would make up a significant portion of the viewerbase anyway. A cursory glance at the comments section also shows most (of not all) of the people down there agree with it.

It's YMMV, you don't get to decide an entry doesn't count because you have opinions about a fan base.

And a comment section on Hbomberguy's video is probably largely going to side with Hbomber.

A significant amount of people dislike the video, saying that they are all part of a certain group or that you feel the opinion is invalid does not affect that.

I will say, I am pretty sure the Brocken Base things have their own cleanup thread.

(FWIW I've literally never heard of this guy before and I only know RWBY from this site, and I'm pretty repulsed by the sheer cynical two-faced Dead Artists Are Better vibes the video gives off, so it very much strikes me as an ad hominem to suggest it's only criticism-intolerant RWBY fans who'd object to it.)

Looking over the broken base criteria in that thread my gut instinct would be that the example wouldn't count, but I also would have no way to know how you would even check for an overlap between HB and RWBY fandoms. It's a criteria that is largely arbitrary of who counts as part of the bade or not, but things as written I would lean towards cutting. But again, this would be a conversation for the appropriate thread as mentioned.

I know this is pretty much over and I was Shaoken's side through most of this but I think that if you make an argument about having evidence you DO have to present that evidence, Shaoken. If you didnt you could be lying and just making stuff up.

True, my main concern was accusations of importing drama by linking direct to SA.

Also I am starting to see why everyone was so against removing the examples. See, there IS stuff where actual history is MASSIVELY modified like say, Braveheart and if we capitulated to removing anything that went against what happened in real life we wouldnt be able to have Moments pages for such media.

Yeah, but this isn't really a 'work' in that sense. As I've said before with the Awesome Yahtzee thing (and I dunno if that conversation ever really came to a conclusion, actually) I'm not the biggest fan in the first place of having moments pages for people talking about real life.

I mean, there's certainly an argument to be had there... but we can't pick and choose based solely on "oh, he didn't mean it this time" because if we can keep the rest, then there's no valid reason to delete this one as it accurately depicts what he said in the video.

x4 I think this is a clear difference. Using Braveheart as an example everyone knows it's fiction so the reality of history is irrelevant to it. This would be like, if someone made a heartwarming entry about the relationship between two characters and commented how the two actors had such respect for each other other for it to turn out they hated worked together in real life. The focus of such a hypothetical is on the real life actors (which I also believe would disqualify it due to the NRLEP policy) rather than the work.

In this specific instance it doesn't count because ultimately the heartwarming sentiment is about the view the video presents. That it's creator didn't believe in it or misrepresented the degree of it doesn't matter. The work presents the message, the reality doesn't change it.

If we ever decided to remove the "Behind the Scenes" folders from Heartwarming.The Mandalorian and Funny.The Mandalorian, would the former's "Tie-Ins" folder need to go as well?
