Since it says "Since most of these involve death scenes, shocking twists, or something just as major, expect many spoilers" over on Tear Jerker, I think all of those need to be removed and I don't think a warning at the top is necessary.

[down] Yeah, I think it isn't necessary but if you want to for whatever reason you could. I'm not saying you shouldn't, just that you don't have to. I'm assuming that you'd mention the reason in the edit reason, so it's at least somewhere either way. le shrug

A warning at the top of the page would still be nice, in case someone who isn't familiar with TV Tropes' spoiler policy wanders in and gets spoiled by accident.

A work's Tear Jerker page is for post-viewing discussion, just like the Moments and Nightmare Fuel pages, so it should not have any spoiler tags at all.

Bigotry in the name of inclusion is still bigotry.

Well, if we're going to un-tag everything, I feel like we should split the page up into folders, one for each game, so players can view that game's moments without risking spoilers from later instalments.

Unfortunately, I haven't played all of the Blazblue games, and I had a hard time understanding what was going on at certain points due to the confusing plot, so I'd need the help of a bigger fan than me to do that. Does anyone here fit the bill?

Sounds reasonable. I can't help you there, though, because this thread is the first I've ever heard of BlazBlue.

Two possibly problematic pages I thought of:

  • New Danganronpa V 3 is the only Danganronpa game to have spoiler tags on its pages. Due to the plot-twist heavy nature of the series, every other instalment just has a warning at the top that all spoilers are unmarked. This is especially annoying considering the huge First-Episode Spoiler (Kaede is a Decoy Protagonist and dies at the end of chapter 1) which requires every single mention of Shuichi being the game's protagonist to be spoiler-tagged. Since the game's been out worldwide for a few months now, I think it might be time to remove the spoiler tags from the game's pages.

  • Doki Doki Literature Club! is a game that's... not at all what it first seems to be. It's nearly impossible to say anything about it without spoiling the big twist (it's not a cute harem dating sim, it's psychological horror). Even the opening paragraphs strongly hint at this twist, and there's already a warning at the top of the trope list, so it might also be a good idea to remove all spoiler tags from its pages.

I've stripped the BlazBlue page of spoilers and I'll put a warning at the top for "all games are spoiled here" or something. If somebody wants to put those into separate folders, they can, but I think there's little reason to wait for "them" (whoever they are) before fixing the spoiler markup.

I have written boilerplate warnings to paste into such pages. The Tearjerker version reads:

The Tearjerker page is for post-viewing discussion, so all spoilers are unmarked per wiki policy.

Bigotry in the name of inclusion is still bigotry.

[up][up] The image's caption might need changing, since spoilers aren't allowed there. I'll remove it for now, and someone else can add a better, non-spoiler one if they have the knowledge to do so.

If examples completely hidden in spoiler tags look bad, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this one, for Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters? (contains references to episodes #5-8)

  • Secret-Keeper: Nathan's grandpa overhears a call Nathan makes to Ricardo, and subsequently figures out that they're Flex Fighters, then promises to the boys that he won't tell anyone. If he has to help explain why Nathan and/or his friends bailed an appointment, he claims they helped work on his newspaper.

I'm not familiar with that work, but what about the following? Or would even the reference to Nathan ("Nathan's grandpa") be too obvious?

  • Secret-Keeper: Nathan's grandpa overhears a call between Nathan and Ricardo, and subsequently figures out that they're Flex Fighters, then promises them that he won't tell anyone. He even helps create an alibi should they need it.

Whether or not that would work would depend on whether or not the mere fact that Nathan's grandpa learns someone's secret in episode #5 sounds like too big a spoiler.

EDIT: Adding it to the page.

To use my report on Ask the Tropers:

Earlier today, I Wiki Walked my way into GE - Good Ending and, to be blunt, the page was a mess. I've done what I can to deal with the worst of it (links to manga sites, multiple tropes listed together, example indentation, ZCE's... oh man the ZCE's...) but there's one issue I'm not sure how to handle: Spoiler tagging.

The spoiler tagging on the page and its subpages strikes me as very excessive. Several Wall of White entries for a start. A few spoilered trope names though I dealt with those. The thing is I don't know the series well enough to differentiate what is and is not a spoiler so I'm not sure what to uncover to keep things looking both good and correct. As a result, I'm not sure how to proceed.

Persona 4 and Persona 5 both have major plot twists which change how one of each games' characters is perceived. The way the character sheets handle this is by writing these Walking Spoiler characters' entries in a way that completely ignores the plot twists, and instead putting all spoilery information in a separate folder on a different page. Is this an acceptable way of handling spoilers?

The recap pages for Series 4 of Black Mirror have spoiler markings on them, even though the edit window has a commented out note saying "Spoilers are unmarked".

This is against the rules, right?

Edit: Spoiler markings were removed.

The vast majority of The Last Jedi page is whited out, even in entries that describe events not whited out in other entries. In order to keep the spoiler tagging consistent, it may be best to keep only plot-central twists be put under spoiler mark-up.

On The Force Awakens page, marking was reserved for Kylo Ren's identity and a death he causes. In The Last Jedi, should spoiler marking be reserved for the most significant deaths (the person Kylo cuts in half and the person who dies facing the sunset) and the final twist (the Astral Projection)?

WhamEpisode.Web Original might have too many spoiler tags, considering Wham Episode already warns readers of unmarked spoilers.

In another thread, I also reported TearJerker.Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 as violating the policy at least once.

While VideoGame.SIMULACRA is a game that should be experienced as blind as possible, the amount of spoiler tags on the page is downright absurd.

Unperson has the speaker of the page quote in spoiler tags, but before I decide whether or not to remove the tags, I thought I should ask if that page provides a special exception, or something like that.

Does the Spoilers Off rule for Heartwarming Moments pages also apply to pictures? I wanted to know before I uploaded one.
