Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the decline of the wiki. After all, it doesn’t feel dead yet.
Yeah, I guess you're right. The community is still large enough that the site can survive at least.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallMaybe we should make milkshakes.
"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."I was thinking a lemonade stand
New theme music also a boxThanks! I really think the color text instructions in the markup box needs to be updated to let people know that alternate evil text colors are possible.
Lemonade stands are nice but I heard milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard.

"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."& How about Lemon Milkshakes?

Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindI've made shakes myself at home. If you ever get Girl Scouts Thin Mints, put them in a blender with vanilla ice cream (preferably Haagen-Dazs vanilla bean), chocolate syrup (I like Hershey's Special Dark syrup myself), and milk. It's actually really good. (If you don't have Thin Mints, substitute Keebler Grasshopper cookies, they're pretty close. Don't know what the overseas equivalent would be.)
Anyway I'm going to veer us back on-topic since this thread isn't for milkshake recipes. I wonder how effective shipping TRS thread wick cleanups off to their dedicated threads has been.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI personally don't know many clean ups that are still still active after being shipped. Unfortunate Implications already already had an active clean up thread before it was brought to TRS. But we have things that aren't actively being cleaned on TRS because someone willing hasn't shown up or people yet or people moved on to other projects so that's just how things work.

Macron's notesYeah, should have known that meme was too outdated.
"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."If deferring TRS cleanup to a Projects thread ends up not working, it's still possible to bring the thread back from the Morgue and let TRS finish the job (assuming anyone is willing and it doesn't end up stalling).
However, I'm still in favor of deferring to cleanup threads if one existed prior to the TRS thread, because in those cases, there's somewhere for cleanup to take place (as opposed to the threads that neither had a cleanup thread nor finished cleanup on TRS before being Morgued) and the slot can be freed up for a new thread.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I think the deferrals work best when:
- There's already been an active cleanup we can jump back to
- The cleanup work isn't as simple as just deleting examples or changing the name, and instead could require a deeper level of more consistent discussion even if it takes longer
They work best for projects that simply require more hands on deck and it's a bonus point if such a thread already exists. However, the nature of the project forums means that some threads become hot subjects with a lot of people involved, and others just get ignored if people think they're too complicated or not worth having a discussion for. It's really more dependent on the whims and culture of the project threads moreso than the TRS itself.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI do recall that one reason why deferring "Funny Aneurysm" Moment's cleanup to the Hindsight thread was suggested was so the thread could vet the examples before deciding whether to move them to Harsher in Hindsight or remove them entirely, and that's generally (if not always) why I defer cleanup to Projects threads if there's already a thread.
Since this is the observations thread, I might as well share an observation that Short-Term Projects seems to be less active than Long-Term Projects; while I have seen people comment on it before, it seems like whenever a thread I defer cleanup work to is in STP, I usually end up moving the thread to LTP shortly afterward in the hopes that the cleanup effort attracts more activity. At first I think it was because moving it to LTP was requested by someone in the thread, but during the most recent case, I asked ahead of time whether to move the thread.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I've noticed that as well. Short-Term doesn't get as many people for some reason. I recently hollered for (and got) the X Killer cleanup to be moved to Long-Term to help get some more attention brought to it (and also because the tropes are still chronically misused).
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallTo be fair, trope-specific cleanups really shouldn't be in short term since unless it's, like, a locked Darth page or something then the cleanup will go on indefinitely as misuse gets added and things need to get chopped down.
Short-term works best for work-specific cleanups and stuff where there's a clear and easy-to-achieve end-point.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupProbably because it wasn't even obvious that it was a joke and not just some random formatting error.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThey should not remove things without an edit reason, in any case. Especially if not everyone agrees.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)
Sorry if this isn't the proper place to ask this but, how do I type different-colored evil text in forum posts? The markup section only lists the default red color.
