Bump. With some of the best fanart I've seen in a long time.

Said pitch did get Amy in charge of the actual Disney Princess comics, and she hopes that Pocket Princesses will one day become official.
An open mind and compassionate heart are among the most important qualities we can have.Disney’s sells pocket princess merch, doesn’t it?
Or is it just merch that uses knockoffs of the pocket princess designs?

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I do wonder if higher ups at Disney would consider Sofia and Elena to be official Disney princesses. On the one hand, they have television shows, and didn't start out with theatrical movies like those seen as official Disney princesses. On the other hand, they're the only two princesses from animated television to have somewhat of a large presence outside of that. On the other other hand, their presence was much more downplayed later on, especially after their shows ended.

I often tell people my favorite Disney Princess is Star Butterfly. I'll admit, it's partially to mess with people and more often then not is met with a response of "Who?" from people who don't follow Disney TV, but I legitimately do really like the character. Favorite official princess... I'd have to say Mulan or Rapunzel.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonLet It Go? Disney Princess Culture Isn’t Toxic, Study Finds
The children who had watched Disney princess movies and played with princess toys the most as preschoolers had more egalitarian views toward women later on compared with children who didn’t have a high level of engagement with princesses. Those who had more princess engagement also indicated more than others that they felt men should show emotion. There was no discernible difference in body image for most girls and boys, but Dr. Coyne did find a positive effect among children from lower-income families.
Major caveat:
Also worth noting is that the current generation isn't the one that actually experienced the Princess marketing and usage people considered outdated.
"I interviewed a bunch of kids whose first princess movie was Tangled about whether princesses can be empowered characters" is a bit iffy as a sample size given that characters like Rapunzel, Anna, Elsa, Merida, Moana, etc were specifically designed to avert the criticisms earlier characters got, and their parents are from the generation where the bulk of those criticisms came from.
What they should have done is interview adults about what they learned or didn't learn from watching princess movies growing up.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I know that Rapunzel's blonde hair is more popular and marketable,but I stan for the supremacy of her short brown hair.
I want more of her with long brunette hair.
I do think it would be good to have a non-action princess again. I know these days action girls are mandated but it would be interesting if Disney tried it again and she still is a good female role model. She doesn't have to kick butt but she is someone who strives to fight for what she believes in.
A duo of Disney princesses could probably do the trick. One of them does the fighting, while the other does the talking.
Say, I remember the leaders of one of the invading forces in the second season of Magic Knight Rayearth were like that. One of them was a fierce tsundere and the other was a classy lady.

To quote Flynn Rider, "I have a thing for brunettes."
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.It makes me wish Sofia would be considered an official Disney princess given how, while she's definitely very strong, it's more from her willpower and less physical power. She's much more about heart and when she does get into more dangerous situations, more emphasis is placed on how she thinks things through. The closest she has to physical power is from the sports she's taken at Royal Prep. Her being a more mindful princess about heart would be a good template for future princesses.
What about stylishly streaking one hair color with that of the other? ;)

I saw something funny on Facebook. You know that "See people's stories" thing? They put one up for a beignet recipe... but the steps were all over the place. XD

And lucky too. When I met Rapunzel and Cinderella, I almost blushed to death like Batman. ^_^;;
Wasn't expecting that to be a page-topper. ^_^;;
