- Best Known for the Fanservice: The only reason Rings of Power is remembered is because of its infamous nude title screen cheat code.
- Broken Base:
- There is a huge rift between Naughty Dog fans who prefer their more family-friendly, stylized, brighter-toned series like Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter versus those who like their darker, realistic, human-centric stuff like Uncharted and The Last of Us. Then there's the middle ground, who likes all of their games regardless, feeling that they all have their own brand of quality. The fact that Naughty Dog has essentially abandoned the former in favor of completely embracing the latter does not help.
- There's another rift forming regarding how Naughty Dog didn't introduce a new IP for the PlayStation 4 era, instead choosing to primarily make sequels to their PlayStation 3 titles. Some don't mind it, liking that their favorite franchises are getting continuations. Others, however, find it to be a sign of creative bankruptcy and a waste of talent that could be used to craft new experiences.
- Friendly Fandoms: With Insomniac Games, especially since the developers themselves have been good friends. Even at the absolute worst, any kind of Fandom Rivalry is of the friendly sort.
- Older Than They Think: A common criticism from older fans regarding current Naughty Dog is how they've gone from doing bright and stylized games to doing darker, more mature, realistic titles beginning with the PlayStation 3. However, some of Naughty Dog's earlier titles before the PlayStation, such as Way of the Warrior and Rings of Power, were also rather dark, realistic looking, and/or mature.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Many older fans who grew up with their output in the PS1 and PS2 days tend to lament the studio's shift from family-friendly, stylized games to more mature, realistic games beginning with the The Seventh Generation of Console Video Games.
