• Accidental Innuendo: When Danton disguises himself as a crossdresser, he uses the psuedonym "Cocklico".
• Americans Hate Tingle: Reviled in the West for it's unoriginality and called a The Rose of Versailles rip-off, as well as being a Cliché Storm. It didn't do well in Japan either. It was only successful in Italy and France amongst a primarily female audience.
• Awesome Music: The Italian theme song sung by Cristina D'Avena. It sounds utterly upbeat and cheery, and the guitar in the background only adds to it.

• Best Known for the Fanservice: Nowadays it's mostly known as "that one show with the female character in a latex suit and uses whips".
• Cliché Storm: La Seine No Hoshi is often criticized for being a generic superhero story with a French Revolution twist added to it - Simone was some nobody until her parents were killed, and instead of fighting supervillains, she fights cartoonishly evil rich people. The plot twists take ages to show up amidst of a lot of filler.
• Fan-Preferred Couple: Simone/Robert was popular long before it was made canon, in contrast to Simone/Milan, which some fans viewed as implied because their friendship is a key part of Simone's choice to become a hero (when it's actually one sided on his part).
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Very, very popular in Italy.
  • The anime was so popular that it in Febuary 1984, it received an Italian◊ comic◊ adaptation◊ (different from the Japanese one) in Corriere dei Piccoli.
  • The official La Seine No Hoshi manga also received an Italian release, making it the only time the manga was released out of Japan.
  • Even the most popular YouTube videos of the anime are in Italian or use it's Italian name, La Leggenda della Stella della Senna.
  • Amongst it's most well-known Italian fans are Marco Albiero, an official Sailor Moon illustrator. He stated that La Seine No Hoshi was the first anime he learned to draw.
  • In 2018, La Seine No Hoshi stage adaptation in Italy at the Teatro Comunale.
• Girl-Show Ghetto: Even though the show has a superhero aesthetic, it never attained a male fanbase. Presumably the focus on the drama of French society and Simone's life was too "shojo" for them.
• Mexicans Love Speedy Gonzales: Unlike English-speaking fans, Francophone fans adore it. La Seine No Hoshi has a small following in France and it is one of the few countries where it is popular (the other being Italy).
• Self-Fanservice: It's very common for fanart to make Simone bustier than she is in canon. A lot of Rule 34 also has her tied up and unable to move from the bondage...
• Spiritual Successor: Has one in Isabelle of Paris. Both are set in olden times France and center around innocent French girls who become freedom fighters and fight for the oppressed after witnessing how the elites abuse their power. Both also become entangled in the messy political scene of French society. Both are also accused of ripping off The Rose Of Versailles.
• Superlative Dubbing: The Italian dub utilized the same dubbing cast as The Rose Of Versailles, including Cinzia De Carolis who voiced the leads of both anime.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The manga adaptation is hated for many reasons, but one of the biggest was that the art style no longer looks like the show's artstyle and more like Ryoko Ikeda's drawings in The Rose of Versailles. Many complained that it took away one of the show's original aspects in favour of riding on the wave of another anime's success.
• They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Mentioning the name online will lead to inevitable discussions of how it's a The Rose of Versailles ripoff, even on this very wiki.
• The Woobie: Simone is a Broken Bird after her parents are killed, the de Forges family are exiled and many of her friends die solely for being close to her.
