• Common Knowledge: On the DVD Commentary for That's Carry On!, producer Peter Rogers reveals that the legend that Charles Hawtrey had to be taught how to drive during the production of the film and caused chaos in the studio carpark wasn't true.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Seeing Charles Hawtrey play a character nicknamed "Pintpot" feels a lot less funny when you remember that in his later years, Hawtrey's alcoholism killed his career and left him poor and friendless until his death.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Anthea is played by Amanda Barrie, who would later be best known for playing Alma Halliwell in Coronation Street.
  • Dancy is played by Peter Gilmore, who would later be best known for playing Captain James Onedin in The Onedin Line.
  • Smiley Sims is played by Bill Owen, who would later be best known for playing Compo Simmonite in Last of the Summer Wine.
  • Gloria is played by Carole Shelley, who would later be best known for playing Gwendolyn Pigeon in The Odd Couple.
• Values Dissonance:
  • The film displays the sexist way women in the workforce were treated at the time (Peg is expected to Stay in the Kitchen, Flo isn't allowed to drive her husband's cab), which culminates in Peg making a stand and starting Glamcabs, her own taxi business run exclusively by women.
  • At the start of the film, Charlie calls the battleaxe woman he has riding in his cab a "faggot" several times.
