- Ham and Cheese: Much like his role in Venom, Tom Hardy's Large Ham take on Al Capone has been both praised and deemed So Bad, It's Good.
- Nausea Fuel: It's a movie about a man suffering from syphilis, and it shows this in excruciating detail throughout.
- No Such Thing as Bad Publicity: In an interview he had with the online magazine Consequence, Josh Trank said he didn't feel hurt by the negative reviews the film got and was even proud of them, for he found them "passionate".
- Win Back the Crowd: Negative reviews or not, some people saw the movie as Josh Trank being on his way to reclaim the good faith Chronicle gave him and have come to reevaluate exactly how much of 2015's Fantastic Four was truly his fault. At the very least, some people have concluded that Trank is possibly better off sticking to lower-tier films than big-budget blockbusters for the time being.
