What conspiracies are we cooking on the menu today?

ENA is a robot, or some sort of "disposable" machine.
Think about it. We know more than one ENA exists. Perhaps this reasoning could be why nobody, even her "best friend" acknowledges her feelings. When ENA is unhappy or having a breakdown, Moony always dismisses her as if she isn't even real. When she vomits at the end of "Auction Day", Moony tells ENA to ask before doing that, implying she has to get permission from Moony to throw up. When ENA's mood is switching, she's associated with television static, which is typically seen when something isn't "working" correctly. In addition, the Brick Frog is implied to hit ENA to return her to normal, similar to how people like to perform Percussive Maintenance to fix malfunctioning electronics.

Moony's wish to the Great Runas wasn't actually for herself.
While yes, her being fat does bother her, it would make sense that Moony would be so embarrassed to tell ENA her wish because it would be for ENA's sake instead. In all three videos Moony is visibly uncomfortable with ENA's sad side, and given that we see they do care about each other on some level, one could see Moony secretly making a wish on ENA's behalf.
  • Adding on to this, in order to relate more to and understand ENA, Moony wished to become like her: a humanoid.

As in, every time she met her doom in the Great Runas, she came back with another body while her older bodies slowly turned into mannequins.

ENA is aware of her looping life and the main reason for it (the Great Runas) but doesn't remember perfectly the circumstances of her death or even how the place is like. Her blue side is suicidal to the degree of begging others to put her out of her misery and showing eerie serenity at the possibility of something killing her is because she's tired of her life looping and, especially, her Heroic BSoD is because she subconsciously knew she'd never make it to the Great Runas before dying ("I CAN'T GO ON! I WON'T ACHIEVE ANYTHING!").

Thankfully, in her latest resurrection, she managed to find a way to get there.

ENA has an outer-shell that is actually a screen/ENA's skin is a screen.

As noted above, ENA tends to visibly glitch out when struck on impact. If her skin or outer-shell was a screen then it would explain a lot. It would explain how her skin constantly changes colours and even visibly glitches out. ENA's screen reacts to her emotions, and the other effects may be holograms. This also explains as to why she has visible pixels on her.

The red and white ENA will have an angry/calm motif.
Joel indicated that he might take his characters in new directions as ENA continues, and the teaser for "Dream BBQ" depicts ENA meditating instead of acting jubilant or depressed. Additionally, while yellow and blue are respectively seen as "happy" and "sad" colors, red and lighter colors are often associated with anger and calmness. Combine this with ENA's jagged fingers in concept art Joel tweeted, and it makes sense to infer that this variation will explore anger-based mood swings instead of happy/sad ones.

This universe takes place in the same universe as Supermarioglitchy4's Super Mario 64 Bloopers.

ENA's gift to Mooney was a spare video game life
It makes sense for a video game-esque world, especially where it appears that people could die at any moment.

Dream BBQ will reveal that ENA's universe is a post apocalyptic cosmic horror

First of all, Joel G warned in his video that there would be some disturbing topics in the upcoming game. This is typical for most people to leave disclaimers in front of their stuff to warn people about what could have potentially upset them, but this is Joel G we're talking about.

What I'm referring to is an earlier animation he did, titled Deadline. In said animation, mannequin humanoids live in a post apocalyptic world where they are powerless to resist a certain time of their schedule when everyone except for the protagonist transforms into a violent, irrational monster and begins to fight each other to the death. During the video there is on camera self harm, suicide, assault, a dismembered corpse, and an entire train of passengers is implied to have died.

What's more, this video had NO WARNING. All of that and no content warning. So what's in Dream BBQ will inevitably be worse than what was shown in Deadline. One might argue that Joel G was doing this because his audience had grown in size and he wanted to be more specific with his warnings, but if he wanted to go for the surprise creepy approach he could have just left the ominous woman's head at the end and people would have been warned that the game contained some scares. So if things in there are so bad that it warrants a warning from him, one can only imagine what kind of horrors are in the game...

Also, there are already quite a few instances which point to ENA's universe being quite hostile. In Auction Day, the fact that rocks falling from the sky and crushing people is seen as normal. In Extinction Party, there is an external threat so bad they built a guardian entity to guard the place and armed it with some kind of weapon to make it capable of shooting someone. Later, ENA is warned by Merci and Robert that the place is dangerous and there could be something terrible that could happen should she choose to stay. It's possible that ENA's gift was a video game life for Mooney. In Temptation Stariway, the mannequins are seen falling from the sky and possibly dying, they are seen pounding the ground possibly in despair, and in piles they are everywhere like corpses. And let's not forget the dead ENAs in the void and the complete lack of safety regulations that prevents people from being trapped with the great Runas for potential centuries.

My guess as to what the main threat would be in the game would be that it's a cosmic horror story and everything is a simulation. The floating head at the end of the Dream BBQ trailer is by far the most human looking character we've seen in ENA and I can't shake the feeling it means something, probably that she came from another world where everything is less surreal. Namely, one more like ours. She is likely a guard to prevent people from escaping a place, since she seemed more condescending and plotting than aggressive in the trailer.

  • Given some of the imagery in the latest trailer, I think you might be onto something.

The ENA from Dream BBQ has a kind/cruel duality

There's a heavy Eastern theme in the newest ENA games and I would like to explain a couple of things about stage masks in Eastern culture. In some places, the colour red represents valor, loyalty, bravery and passion while lighter colors represent coldness and cruelty. Light colors are (more notably white) is typically reserved for the villains while red is for heroes.

Also the two sides of her are different in expression. ENA's red side eye looks playful and her paler eye looks sarcastic and fed up, even angry. Her red side's hand is soft like a mitten, while her paler hand literally has claws.

Also according to some of the comments on her wiki article on Joel G's Patreon, they saw ENA's pale side being mad. In the trailer for Dream BBQ, ENA's pale side was the one yelling when she was using the megaphone, and the eye on her red side was frowning.

  • Half-Confirmed so far; in the voice reveal video, the new ENA's personalities are called "Salesperson" and "Meanie". Meanie fits the cruel guess perfectly, while for now it's a bit difficult to tell if Salesperson completely fits kind (in the quote used for the reveal, at least, she sounds friendly).

The Tombstones are related to the other gods in the Dead God Graveyard.
And Runas is one of them.

The series doesn't have a deep meaning or explanation.
It really is just a Random Events Plot made to be surreal, and there is no deep plot going on in the background.

Other ENA motifs we could see in the future:
  • Courage/Fear
  • Fascination/Disgust
  • Logic/Spontaneity
  • Sincerity/Sarcasm
  • Helpfulness/Selfishness
  • Amusement/Boredom

Salesperson ENA will turn out to be a manipulative Jerkass while Meanie ENA will turn out to be an honest Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
Salesperson ENA could possibly be manipulative to get what she wants like how a salesperson can manipulate customers to get them to buy their product while Meanie ENA while frustrated and more outwardly a Jerk will end up being much more honest and will end up showing multiple moments of kindness.

Alternatively, Salesperson ENA and Meanie ENA need to join forces to achieve their true potential
Salesperson ENA seems like a hard-working, outgoing, friendly sort, while Meanie ENA is more assertive. Unlike in Season 1, where ENA tried to get rid of her sad side, here, ENA could be trying to unite her halves into one personality.

New ENA will be a Decoy Protagonist to Season 2 with the original ENA returning for future episodes/Games.
Either Dream BBQ ends with her death or it ends up finishing her character arc in one game either way New ENA will end up being a one off protagonist.

The name ENA is actually an acronym and that's why it's written in all caps
And it stands for...

The series takes place in some sort of digital world
That would explain:
  • The retro game feel
  • The presence of "holy code"
  • The Great Runas's name (Runas: "run as," as in "run as administrator?")
