Roombo: First Blood is a 2019 video game developed and published by Australian studio Samurai Punk about defending your house from intruders. As a vacuum cleaner robot that feeds on blood.
The story is simple: As a family leaves their house for the evening, their cleaner robot is peacefully sleeping on its charging station... until it's woken up by a burglary. It's time to clean house.
A sequel, Justice Sucks: Tactical Vacuum Action, was released on the 8th of September, 2022, with tinyBuild as the publisher.
Roombo: First Blood provides examples of the following tropes:
- Asshole Victim: The burglars. Considering that they were going to rob the home they had broken into of its valuables (and even if injured, will not try to leave until they've bagged something), no tears are shed whenever they get slaughtered by the cleaning robot.
- Attack of the Killer Whatever: A killer vacuum cleaner robot.
- Blatant Burglar: All burglars wear dark clothing and balaclavas, making it impossible to mistake them for friendly.
- Cleanup Crew: It is a cleaning robot. Plus, mopping up the blood charges a powerup.
- Deadly Rotary Fan: Fans can be dropped on burglars.
- Everything Is Online: Many house appliances can be "hacked", including windows and fireplaces.
- Faceless Goons: All the burglars wear balaclavas.
- Hollywood Hacking: The robot is capable of hacking practically anything in the house, including things that otherwise wouldn't have electronics such as windows.
- Ludicrous Gibs: Running over a fallen burglar turns them into Cartoon Meat (and more blood) while making a woodchipper noise.
