Fangirl Frenzy is a Friday Night Funkin' mod created by Dra90n5 and Nutwuesadilla. In this mod, after a long day of rap battling, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are ready to go home, but they get stopped by a girl named Lexi, who is the head of Boyfriend's unofficial fanclub and is really excited to meet him! Unsurprisingly, she wants to sing with him, and Boyfriend reluctantly obliges.

Songs:

Main Week

  1. Frenzy
  2. Nightfall
  3. Fandemonium

Freeplay

  1. Owgh

Tropes:

  • Berserk Button: Boyfriend gets one in the form of any harm coming to Girlfriend, and having other people touch her, due to how she hates it when people, besides him, touch her. Upon realizing that she was tranquilized by Lexi, Boyfriend snaps and tears into Lexi for being so disrespectful and hurtful towards them.
  • Bittersweet Ending: While Boyfriend and Girlfriend are (rightfully) pissed at Lexi and make it clear that they want to be left alone, with signs that Lexi may never get the chance to properly patch things up with them, she and her fellow fangirls take the experience as a chance to move on from their idolization and become their own people. Lexi even invites her friends over to her place for their first non-Boyfriend-related hangout.
  • The Cameo: Garcello can be seen amongst the crowd of fangirls in "Fandemonium". He even gets a line in during the ending cutscene in which he states that he doesn't know why he's even present.
    • Likewise, Colette is also seen in the crowd shot, fitting as she is also a Fangirl.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Lexi differs greatly from previous Boyfriend fangirls like Sky and Beepie, in that she's a normal human with no powers or hidden nasties to speak of, and she isn't trying to take Boyfriend from Girlfriend; she just wants to sing with him.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Lexi's fellow fangirls are appalled that Lexi chose to tranquilize Girlfriend before gathering them, admitting that despite their idolization of Boyfriend, even they wouldn't resort to such methods.
    • Lexi herself even admits that despite tranquilizing Girlfriend, she never meant to put her in danger.
  • Fangirl: In case the title of the mod wasn't an immediate giveaway, Lexi is a fan of Boyfriend, right down to wearing the same hat as him, having similar hair, and wearing similar clothing, only instead of a white shirt with a "No" sign she wears a Boyfriend T-Shirt from official FNF merch.
  • Hallucinations: In the second song where Boyfriend gets tired, he admits that he's starting to see crazy stuff. In gameplay, this affects the charting. Transparent notes appear alongside the normal ones, increasing in intensity as the song goes on. Hitting or missing them does nothing, as it's just meant to be a distraction.
  • Hates Being Touched: Boyfriend stated that Girlfriend HATES people putting their hands all over her, except for his own.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: One of Lexi's friends admits that she was never into Boyfriend. She just wanted to be part of a friend group.
  • Inversion: Of the common trend of the mod's opponent slowly getting irritated until having a Villainous Breakdown in the final song. This time, it's Boyfriend who slowly loses it rather than the opponent. He starts out normal in "Frenzy", gets tired in "Nightfall", and then gets angry in "Fandemonium".
  • No Name Given: Some of Lexi's friends and fellow members of Boyfriend's fan clubs are given lines in the ending cutscene, but their names are never stated.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Boyfriend rightfully gives Lexi one after ''Fandemonium" and realizes Girlfriend was shot with a tranquilizer dart.
Boyfriend: "...YOU WHAT?!? WHY WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN YOUR RIGHT MIND?!?"
Lexi: "I was just...making sure my plans wouldn't have any disruptions or anything..."
Boyfriend: "By SHOOTING MY GIRLFRIEND WITH A DART?"
  • Suddenly Speaking: One of the few mods where Boyfriend speaks in full sentences.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome:
    • Boyfriend went through a tournament of rap battling prior to his encounter with Lexi, so he's pretty tired and his voice is strained, and he unsurprisingly passes out after the second song.
    • Boyfriend isn't happy about Lexi singing him to exhaustion just so she could gather her fellow fangirls to meet him, and is quick to call her out on it.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Gender-Inverted. While Boyfriend was already angry that Lexi made him fall asleep on cold asphalt and surrounded him with fangirls when he just wanted to go home, he gets even more pissed when he sees Girlfriend missing and learns that Lexi shot her with a tranquilizer dart and she woke up crowd surfing against her will.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Lexi just wanted Boyfriend to meet his fan club, but the way she went about it was very uncalled for.
