- Their version of The Chase made for one Sidemen Sunday received a comment of approval from the official show's YouTube channel. This would years later leading to group making another Affectionate Parody of the show for Sidemen Sunday that used the actual set, production studio, graphics (with the running man silhouette in the logo modified to look like KSI), music, and even a cameo appearance from host Bradley Walsh himself.
- Their version of The Wheel used the show's actual studio, graphics, and music. Of course, it helps that Vik actually appeared in an episode of the show itself.
- Corpsing: JJ breaks character as the host of Sidemen Family Fortunes when Jme says that his fancy name tag was inspired by Josh's (whose name tag is just his given name written plainly). Tobi lampshades this.
- Creator Backlash: Simon and Josh have declared the Sidemen Winter Olympics
video the worst Sidemen Sunday video ever, because, while the thumbnail◊ was good, the content was not. The fact that it's also the least-viewed Sidemen Sunday video helps. - Fan Community Nickname: While not widely adopted, some fans call themselves "Sidefans".
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: The Sidemen Sunday video where they play an Affectionate Parody of Countdown was privatised just a couple days after it was uploaded after it quickly garnered controversy on Twitter when KSI used a racial slur as an answer. Unofficial uploads are easy to find on YouTube, however.
- Network to the Rescue: In a meta example, KSI claimed in a video podcast with Ryan Higa that YouTube Originals was partly responsible for keeping the Sidemen together after the 2017 "Sidemen War". You read that right; JJ claimed that YouTube themselves saved the Sidemen from splitting up.
- Promoted Fanboy: With the launch of the "More Sidemen" channel in 2018, the Sidemen recruited Tegs, a fan who operated a Sidemen clip compilation channel called "All Things Sidemen", to create official clip compilations for them.
- Schedule Slip: For a long time, Simon hyped up a Sidemen Q&A with JJ (as he had done Q&As with everyone else in the group), but it took a long time to do so until it was finally made.
