Go To

  • B-Team Sequel: Creator Dan Schneider is not involved with the revival series in any way, although his name is still in the opening credits as the creator.
  • Creative Differences: Jay Kogen departed from his duties as co-showrunner on February 2021 just months before production was set to begin, due to him and Carly's actress Miranda Cosgrove realizing that his direction wasn't going to work out.
  • Descended Creator: Esther Povitsky serves as a writer and played Brooke in "iTake a Girl’s Trip".
  • Directed by Cast Member: Nathan Kress directed "iCan Fix it Myself", "iBuild a Team", "iHit Something", "iFaked It", and "iGo to Toledo".
  • Irony as She Is Cast: In "iReturn to Webicon", Carly gives thanks to God during her makeshift acceptance speech. According to Jennette McCurdy's memoir I'm Glad My Mom Died, Miranda Cosgrove is an atheist.
  • I Want You to Meet an Old Friend of Mine:
    • Mia Serafino, who was cast as Pearl in Season 2 worked with Miranda Cosgrove on Crowded, a short lived live action sitcom in 2016.
    • Josh Peck, who famously worked with Miranda Cosgrove and Jerry Trainor in Drake & Josh (where Nathan Kress also had a deleted guest appearance) appears in Season 2 as Paul.
  • Meme Acknowledgment: Miranda Cosgrove reenacts her infamous meme "Interesting" from Drake & Josh in the third episode.
  • Produced by Cast Member: Cosgrove and Trainor return as their respective characters and are producers on the show as well.
  • Queer Character, Queer Actor:
    • Harper is pansexual, and her actress Laci Mosley is bisexual.
    • The season one finale reveals that Double Dutch is attracted to women. Her actress, Poppy Liu, identifies as queer.
  • Role Reprise: Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor, and Nathan Kress reprised their roles from the original series as Carly, Spencer, and Freddie, respectively. Other returns include:
    • Mary Scheer as Marissa Benson.
    • Reed Alexander as Nevel Papperman.
    • Danielle Morrow as Nora Dershlit.
    • Tim Russ as Ted Franklin.
    • Doug Brochu as Duke Lubberman.
    • Drew Roy as Griffin.
    • Season 2 features the returns of Jeremy Rowley as Lewbert Sline, Ryan Ochoa as Chuck Chambers, Ethan Munck as Guppy Gibson and Greg Mullavey as Granddad Shay.
    • Set to return in season 3, in addition to several of the above are James Maslow as Shane, Skyler Day as Magic Malika and Christopher David as Rip-Off Rodney.
    • The same happens in the Latin American Spanish dub when most of the original voice cast was kept. The only replacements were Freddie, who was voiced by Alejandro Orozco and now voiced by Alberto Bernal, and Nora, who was voiced by Karla Falcón, and now voiced by an unknown voice actress instead, and in both cases, they were replaced due to them having problems with the current voice acting studio.
  • Sequel Gap: This series premiered nine years after the original iCarly ended in 2012.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • There were talks of re-recording "Leave it All to Me" for this show, or even recording an entirely new song, but Miranda Cosgrove insisted that they use the opening song from the original show.
    • The original pitch for the show was Carly and Spencer hosting teen influencers in a Hype House-type apartment. It was also still aimed towards kids, before Miranda realized that direction didn't work and had the revival aimed towards the now-adult original target audiences.
    • Jennette McCurdy was offered to reprise her role as Sam when the show was in early development but declined due to her disillusionment with her acting career as well as considering her role as her Old Shame. Noah Munck was also offered to reprise his role as Gibby but he declined due to being not happy with his character serving as the punching bag in the original run.
    • Season 2 was supposed to have thirteen episodes like the first season, but it was cut to ten. Season three was also ten episodes long.
