  • Box Office Bomb: Budget, $9 million. Box office, $1.4 million.
  • Breakaway Pop Hit: "No More Lonely Nights" (with its great guitar solo provided by David Gilmour) was a huge hit, to the point that many listeners probably weren't even aware that it was from a movie, let alone one starring Paul.

  • The Danza: Most of this movie's lead cast have character names the same as their real first names. This included Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Linda McCartney as Paul, Ringo, and Linda respectively.
  • Doing It for the Art: The film was financed entirely by Paul McCartney, prompting one critic to say that "At least he wasted his own money on it and not the bank's."
  • Enforced Method Acting: Any time you see music being played, that music was being played as it was filmed.
  • Real-Life Relative:
    • Linda McCartney is seen in this movie playing the keyboards, and as a photographer, two of her favorite pastimes, as well as riding a horse briefly.
    • Barbara Bach appears alongside Ringo.
