- Dawson Casting: Tamzin Merchant was nearly a decade older than her character Imogen Spurnrose in Season 1 and over a decade older in Season 2 (especially because of the production delays). Imogen is 22 in Season 1 and as the second season takes place a few months after the first, Imogen is about the same age there. Merchant was 30 and turned 31 during the filming of Season 1, while during the filming of Season 2 she was 33/34 and had turned 36 by the time the season finished airing.
- Dueling Works: This series and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance were released on the very same day, and both were clearly trying to be the next big fantasy series after Game of Thrones ended.
- He Also Did: Among other things, Rene Echevarria previously wrote and produced on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.
- Queer Character, Queer Actor: Bisexual Vignette is played by Cara Delevingne, who's pansexual.
- Real-Life Relative: Sgt Dombey and Absolom Breakspear are played by brothers-in-real-life Jamie and Jared Harris.
- Troubled Production:
- The show took several years to get off the ground, and lost several initial crew members along the way, most notably Guillermo del Toro.
- Filming of the second season was delayed due to concerns over the COVID-19 Pandemic and key actors such as Orlando Bloom being unable to travel to the Czech Republic (where much of the filming took place). Overall, it took around two years to finish filming (November 2019 to September 2021), with Season 2 finally airing in 2023, over three years after Season 1. It's believed the extensive delays may have been a factor in Season 2 being announced as the show's last.
