  • Colbert Bump: Thanks to the game, YouTube channels that focus on World War I like The Great War have an increase of subscription and viewers. This isn't exactly unplanned either, as they wrote the codexes for the game's campaign and designed all the medals.

    • With the current Behemoth mechanics, players have taken to calling incoming Behemoth support the "welfare train/blimp/ship/tank" because of their purpose to help a team get out of a huge defeat.
    • The A7V tank is called the "box tank" or the "toaster tank" for its blocky appearance
  • It Will Never Catch On: As an incredulous Jim Sterling revealed, DICE had to fight hard to get EA to approve a World War I shooter, with EA executives claiming that kids wouldn't want a game set during World War I, since they were too stupid even know about World War II or the Vietnam War.note  In spite of this, the game's trailer became the most liked video game trailer ever on YouTube.
  • Method Acting: In order to simulate the physical strain and labor experienced by their characters, DICE made the voice actors wear backpacks full of weights and had them play catch with cinderblocks while recording their lines.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The official Artbook shows concept art for potential War Stories, thus truly emphasising the global nature of the Great War.
      • More female characters like Zara are shown in the trenches; some appear to be part of the Russian Women's Battalion of Death, while another one appears to be a civilian medic on the Western Front.
      • It appears that the Central Powers were in consideration for their own war stories, scenes of regular German infantry in muddy trenches and notable character sheets alongside them.
    • An early Levolution concept for the multiplayer map "Monte Grappa," would give players the ability to create landslides by bombing the mountains, similar to what happens in the "Avanti Savoia" War Story.
