  • Acting for Two: In Japanese and English, Yuki Hirokawa and Suzie Yeung both voice Ann and Amok.
  • Author's Saving Throw:
    • Following a largely negative reception to the original ending with some stating that it was rather bleak, inconclusive, and overall unsatisfying, the game was later given an update to significantly extend the ending to deal with lingering threads and give it a more proper closure.
    • In response to criticisms about the combat being too difficult or clunky and frustrating, the developers added a more forgiving Easy mode.
  • Blooper: In the scene where Sigrid is exploring the Flores household, Ryan's room is mis-spelled as 'Rain'.
  • Cut Song: The "Retro Style" soundtrack isn't used at any point in the main game due to it originally being planned for content that was cut out during development.
  • Deleted Scene: Extra scenes from Ann's dream in the introduction of the early demo were excluded in the main game. Also, The Stinger of the original ending gets removed after the extended ending update.
  • Development Gag: At Noctis City, the ROM shop features a device to view virtual simulated areas, one of them, Phantasy Nightclub, features a "Thirty-seven 37" sign, the Working Title for the game when it was in development.
  • Directed by Cast Member: Amber Lee Connors was the voice director and took part in some additional roles.
  • Divorced Installment: The story was originally developed to be set in the SCP Foundation universe. It was later reworked into an original intellectual property in order to avoid potential issues with the SCP IP, while maintaining some elements from the original buildout.
  • Dummied Out: This occurs with the Lore Codex, that is to feature information regarding various locations and phrases mentioned throughout the game is entirely blank due to an unfinished program code that's supposed to unlock it, and the contents can only be found in the game's data.
  • Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition: For a limited time after its March 17, 2022 launch, the PC Steam version has the collector's edition bundled with the game at small mark-up from the base edition. It comes with 2 costumes, 3 weapons with particle effects, "chip" items for the game, a digital edition of the soundtrack, and a digital version of the artbook. After the promo period, new players can just buy the "Collector's Edition Upgrade Pack".
  • Missing Trailer Scene: Multiple scenes that were featured in earlier trailers were excluded from the final product, such as Ann battling mechs on top of a subway.
  • Release Date Change: The game was originally announced to be released in 2020 until it underwent further development before being released in March 2022.
  • Same Voice Their Entire Life: In both Japanese and English, a Pensieve Flashback shows Ann's younger self being voiced by the same voice actors; Yuki Hirokawa and Suzie Yeung.
  • Schedule Slip: The console ports for the Mysterious Console DLC was originally announced to be released a week after the PC release. The update for consoles would be delayed after the developers faced unexpected issues and had it delayed.
  • Uncredited Role: With the exception of Suzie Yeung and Lizzie Freeman (who voices Ann Flores and Ayane Misuno respectively), none of the other voice actors (and their characters) are credited during the Credits Roll.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • As mentioned on the main page, this game was supposed to be based on the SCP Foundation before becoming its own thing out of IP concerns (as revealed by Gematsu). Trailers with the original SCP brand can be viewed here.
    • The game's digital artbook showcases various details that were changed before the final release; character designs that went unused, areas that had vastly different looks, and Animal Mecha encountered as bosses.
    • Earlier designs for Ayane had her with longer hair similar to Ann's. In the final product, her hair is shortened.
    • Dialogue from the 2020 demo mentioned Ann was formerly a Big Sister Bully to Ryan. This facet was removed in the main release.
    • Sigrid was originally dressed in white and had a Robot Buddy called Eddy.
    • There was originally going to be unique battle animations for certain fights before they were cut out.
    • The Mysterious Console DLC had an entirely different layout menu including the usage of three unknown items that go unused in the main release.
  • Working Title: An earlier version of the game when it was in development was titled "Thirty Seven - 37".
