Tear Jerker / Phantom Investigators

• "Secrets Exposed!":
  • Professor Navarro's backstory. In the 1950s, he was part of the original Phantom Investigators team along with Daemona's grandparents and a fourth member, Willard. Because Willard wasn't into the idea of using his powers to help people, he made a deal with the NetherRealm to become a vampire. He attacked the gang when this happened, and bit Navarro in the process, causing him to turn into a vampire. While Daemona's grandparents were able to make him a Totem of Spirit Control to keep him human, it also rendered him unaging. Thus having to see his friends and family pass before him. It gets even worse after the Fridge Horror sets in- this means that eventually, he's going to outlive the gang.
  • Earlier in the episode, Daemona finds her grandmother's will and says that she hasn't read it since she died, stopping before she gets to the final word. It's clear from both her face and delivery that she's still heartbroken over losing her.
  • The last few minutes of the episode are a mix of this and heartwarming. We later find out that Daemona's grandmother was part of the original Phantom Investigtors of the fifties and was watching Daemona over from the NetherRealm. Daemona laments how she wishes she was able to get to know her more before she died. And then Navarro's cell phone rings, he gives her the phone, and...
  Daemona: Grandma? Is that you?
• During the Darkest Hour in "Thank Wad", Daemona and the gang doubt they'll survive their mission against the garbage elemental and do one last Team Hand-Stack before the fight. They're all twelve years old and aware that they might die on the job. Just...damn.
• Daemona's reaction to the debate team laughing about how they made her do their laundry and homework, among other things for them just so she could get a second chance to try out for the team, and that she actually did them, during her second tryout. Right before she gets mad and leaves, she just looked so hurt.
