Tear Jerker / Inner Demon

Go To

For a Dark Fic, it shows to have some pretty heavy stuff around depression and murder. Not to mention that it has plenty of sad moments. And this is an Uncle Grandpa fanfic were talking about!

  • Pizza Steve is basically a cool pizza slice, who transformed into a depressed killer and thief in the middle of a Despair Event Horizon.
    • Alice is controlling his mind to do evil things, which he is forced to do under his will.
    • He always hides his true personality from his friends so they won't be in danger.
    • Of all the people he befriended, they always ended up in a array of events that lead them to death caused by himself or Alice.
    • He always blames himself for all of these events.
    • Not to mention that he's under a huge depression at this point. Somebody should seriously give this guy a hug.
    • Every time he cries can be sad once in a while.
  • In Andy, Pizza Steve is forced to kill Andy under Alice's demand, and sadly he does.
    • A bonus one goes to him crying harder for what he did.
  • Did anyone want to give Riley a hug in the Innocence chapter? Everything became even worse for her.
    • She has two abusive parents who abuse her ever since she was ten.
    • Even her boyfriend was killed by Pizza Steve along with his father.
    • After beating up her parents as revenge, it seems that Riley's horrible life is over... until Alice kills her. Even her final words are sadder, since we wanted her to be happy again.
  • Hal from Steal starts out as a nice guy with a loving family, until Alice shows up and forces him to join the mafia as a thief so he can save up some money.
    • Alice makes it even worse when she ruins Hal and Pizza Steve's mission by replacing the jewels with bunny slippers, which causes Hal's family to be murdered and the ladder to be killed as well.
    • And to add it all up, Hal was murdered cold by Alice in front of Pizza Steve, when he desperately tries to warn him about Alice, but he sadly dies anyway.
  • Memory, the chapter that shows us both Pizza Steve and Alice's backstories.
    • How about the fact that all of this misery could have been avoided if Mimi and everyone else weren't so cruel to Alice?
    • Pizza Steve's backstory was also a major tear jerker as well. Alice appears for the first time and tricks him into killing a man name Rick and his wife, Theresa to think that it's just a video game.
    • His breakdown near the end is what kills the mood with Alice beating and taunting him.
    • When inside the dark void, Pizza Steve comes across some illusions of the couple he killed. But what really set things off is a illusion of Uncle Grandpa and his friends, disappointed at him for what he did.
    • Not to mention of how much pain he's in when he screams at Alice to go away. And he even cries for the rest of the night. We truly see his pain...
  • In the seventh chapter Sally, Pizza Steve befriends a little girl named Sally...and let's just say that Sally's story was a Foregone Conclusion and leave it at that.
Sally: Pizza Steve, why are you crying?
    Pizza Steve: I-It’s nothing Sally…I was just…h-happy that I’m you best friend…
Sally: I’m you bestest friend too Pizza Steve!
Pizza Steve: A-and…you know that you’re my best friend…r-right…?
Sally: Of course you are! You’re my best friend Pizza Steve, no matter what!
  • Lie became the start of the story's main turning point, into getting deeper into Pizza Steve's dilemma.
    • The chapter starts off with Pizza Steve in the hospital where he was told that he was trapped in the Fields' house when it was burning. However it was revealed that once he managed to kill Sally, he actually felt too depressed and caused a fire, laying next to Sally's corpse to release himself from his situation. Pizza Steve broke down in tears, saying that he doesn't even want to live. That is how darker his feelings has become....
    • Although he is treated well by many of the hospital staff, Pizza Steve deeply feels that he doesn't deserve any of this, knowing that he's already a bad person. He even kept thinking that he would either commit suicide again, or even shun himself from everybody, even Uncle Grandpa and his friends...
    • He even gets himself two psychological breakdowns. One where his friends visit and seeing Uncle Grandpa breaking down over the deaths of the ones Pizza Steve killed caused him to cry. And when he sees the news reports about said deaths, he breaks down into tears, desperately wanting the pain to go away....
    • And then there's the one where he had no other choice but to fake out what happened to the Fields' by saying that a infamous criminal, Hunter Jones had done it. He obviously felt ashamed of what he did, knowing that he blamed it on someone who may have a lot of deep issues, even though said person is a murderer.
    • Hell, not even Hunter Jones is save from this trope, because he was driven to his life of crime thanks to some cruel family members who mistreated him all his life, plus getting framed for a crime he surprisingly didn't commit without any proof to back him up.
    • The moment where Pizza Steve unexpectedly reveals his secret to Hunter when trying to calm him down feels very shocking. He even comforts him about how he copes with it, making it feel kinda relatable...
Pizza Steve: ...I...I killed people before. *wipes tears* I've done horrible things to people before...
    Hunter: N-no way! You're lying—
Pizza Steve: I-I'm not... I was like you, but just like you, I wasn't like this before. I just to be a normal person, nothing else. I even had friends to support me. But then, I soon had these thoughts in my head. These thoughts just came in and caused me to have depression... And, for the rest of my time, I dealt with it by ruining other's happiness. I thought that killing them would maybe solve my depression...but it didn't. It just got worse...
Hunter: B-but that doesn't prove anything! How can you even say that!?
Pizza Steve: Believe me, Hunter. I'm telling the truth... *walks up to him* If you ended up losing everything that you loved and ruined it for someone else, would it be worth it...?
    Hunter: W-what are you...?
Pizza Steve Losing control of you depression and going rouge isn't going to change anything, Hunter. It's not worth it. Killing you family members for what they've done to you isn't going to solve anything. You could've tried to fix things. You could maybe go into another path and change yourself. That's what I'm trying to do...and I hope that they won't know yet...
    • And then there's the ending. After waking up from a short knock out, Hunter grabs a police officer's gun and shoots himself in the head, right in front of Pizza Steve. Even his last words of agony was painful to hear
Hunter: *aims gun on his head* I-I can't! I DON'T WANT TO EXIST ANYMORE! *shoots himself*
