Lanfeust of Troy

  • Ci'an and Cixi are the names of the last two Dowager Empresses of China.
  • Early in the third book, Lanfeust sings the song from the French "Ricoré" advertisement. He gets interupted just before the part where the brand's name is said.
  • Lanfeust writes the first letter of his name on Bugrenne's clothes with his sword, like Zorro.
  • At one point, the Magohamoth sword gets its blade stuck in a stone, Lanfeust retrieves it while referencing the legend of King Arthur.
  • The Darshanide Goddess of Labyrinths is called Larakröft.
  • In the Darshanide god's palace, Waldo can be seen as a background cameo.
  • Cixi spends an episode as a black-clad masked vigilante riding a bat-like dragon named Tornado.
  • A member of Thanos's army is Sergeant Karsya, whose name is similar to Sergeant Garcia.

Lanfeust of the Stars

  • A group of Martians from Mars Attacks! make a cameo in Les tours d'Abraxar.
  • Captain Grundwund is a rorskal hunter. Rorskals are basically alien whales. A specific rorskal the captain is trying to hunt is a unique white one, referencing Moby-Dick.
  • Captain Grundwund's crew includes carbon copies of Captain Haddock, Redbeard and Corto Maltese.
  • Planet Abraxar has creatures called "Dark-Moules", which looks like mussels with Darth Maul's skin color. People infected by the creature's poison also get Darth Maul's skin color. The name "Dark-Moule" by itself a mix between "Dark Maul" (Darth Maul's French name) and "moule" (mussel).
  • There's a secret agent whose name is Oho Seth, which sounds like "007" in French.
  • Pathacelces sometime use their shapeshifting power to take the appearance of other fictional characters, including: Casimir, the Marsupilami, a Xenomorph and Darth Vader.
  • The chemical detonator has the appearance of a Pokeball.
  • At one point, Oho Seth calls himself a "poor lonesome agent, a long way from home", which is inspired by Lucky Luke's song at the end of all of his stories.
  • A minor character is named Prince Wind, and is said to be very interested in magic. He is also shown owning a small chest with legs.
  • Thanos's spaceship after the 16 years time skip is called the "Al Blattor", which sounds like Albator, the French name of Captain Harlock.
  • Cixi has a spaceship called the Millenium Sparrow.
  • At one point, Glin is put inside a carbonite block, just like Han Solo.
  • Some people confuse Hébus with a member of a species called "Wookee" or "Chewbac".
  • Lanfeust avoids egg-bullets like Neo avoids gunshots in The Matrix.

Trolls of Troy

  • The Trolls in this series are pretty much Expies of the Gauls in Asterix: impregnable village hidden in the forest, check. Super-strong inhabitants who love to brawl and eat, check. High-ranking leader repeatedly trying to get back at them an always failing, check. Some stories even end with the trademark banquet regrouping the whole village. The main difference is that the Trolls definitely don't inflict Amusing Injuries and very much love human flesh.
  • References to Discworld are common:
    • One story includes a character named "Cut-your-own-throat Dibbler"
    • A sailor explains that the world is round, and definitely not flat and carried by four elephants on top of a turtle.
