Fighting Simulator is a series of Play-by-Post Games created by realicraft, starting in 2018note , and hosted on the Terraria Community Forums, for the first game, and the Text-Based Games Forum, for the other two.

Each game is fairly simple: all the players attempt to fight all the other players. Over time, however, new mechanics are introduced.

    Games in the series

The Fighting Simulator series contains examples of:

  • Casting a Shadow: The Dark alignment, which is the alignment of the Purple Slime.
  • Cooking Mechanics: The Cooking skill, which is essentially just Crafting, but for food.
  • Cute Slime Mook: The Slime mobs are these, and come in five different colors, corresponding to five different elements.
  • Fantasy Metals: The third game has two:
    • Electrum (not to be confused with real life electrum) is a yellow-green mineral that produces small amounts of electricity, with electrum nuggets being used as batteries. It can have all of it's electricity removed to turn it into Depleted Electrum, which can be used in crafting.
    • Hardite is a reddish-orange mineral that is described as being harder than diamond; it's used to make the strongest craftable equipment.
  • Fishing for Sole: Several "junk" items can be found when Fishing, including an old boot, which can be crafted with another old boot to make an equippable Pair of Old Boots.
  • Flavor Text: Every item and effect has a description, though many of them tend to simply be Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
  • Green Thumb: The Plant alignment, which is the alignment of the Green Slime.
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: Eating food restores health, with some foods healing as much as 17 HP; some foods consist of multiple servings, and eating too much in a single turn runs the risk of getting the Nausea effect.
  • An Ice Person: The Ice alignment, which is commonly used by Chir' and his dragonlings.
  • Item Crafting: The Crafting skill, and a major part of the third game, as it's the only way to obtain a large number of items, including most equippable items.
  • Light 'em Up: The Light alignment, which is not actually used by anything.
  • Making a Splash: The Water alignment, which is the alignment of the Blue Slime.
  • Non-Elemental: The Typeless alignment, which is outside the alignment system, and thus always deals and takes 1x damage.
  • Oddly Named Sequel 2: Electric Boogaloo: FS2 references the Trope Namer, and FS3's subtitle is simply just "Subtitle".
  • Phone Word: Several phone numbers are made out of these, referred to as "mnemonics".
  • Playing with Fire: The Fire alignment, which is the alignment of the Red Slime.
  • Potion-Brewing Mechanic: Part of the Alchemy skill; it involves combining a bottle of water with an ingredient and waiting a turn, after which an effect is chosen at random, though some items have pre-determined effects.
  • Shock and Awe: The Electric alignment, which is commonly used by Reali during the first two games, and is the alignment of the Yellow Slime.
  • Stock Femur Bone: Bones dropped from Skeletons look like this, which gets lampshaded in the description.
