Original Airdate (Twitch): October 17, 2020:

Having entered a literal ghost town, the group struggles to maintain their sanity.

Ohohohoho, oh you're going to be a FUN one.

  • Appearance Is in the Eye of the Beholder: It's clarified that, at the end of the last episode, everyone only saw a vision of their own loved one's corpse being hung, and not anyone else's.
  • Crossover Punchline: The Pumpkin King is based directly on a character from a wrestling stream Bosco runs. Among the first questions he has when meeting the party face-to-face are whether it's common for minotaurs and lizardfolk to partner up, if they work with birdmen and werewolves, and if Wihikayda is a gilled pirate, all references to a stable from the wrestling stream that the party superficially resemble. Additionally, the voice Bosco uses for him is near-identical to Alastor's.
  • Deadly Game: The "Pumpkin King" asks the party if they'd like to play a game to learn the location of the wolves that attacked Sumer, and a ghostly, scythe-wielding horseman in black robes appears, who apparently won't like it if they don't play. And then there's the game itself...
  • Eldritch Location: The town itself appears to be a ghost, with everything's colors inverted, translucent buildings, and a constant feeling that everything touched (including the ground beneath their feet) is not quite actually there. Wihikayda immediately feels unease at its unnaturalness. And that's not even counting the visions of dead loved ones everyone saw at the gates, and continues to see throughout.
  • Evil Laugh: The entity messing with the party gives one when it first speaks up and Calamity loses two points of sanity from hearing it.
  • Genius Loci: The town has a way of affecting each party member individually, intent to make the party split up even when they're all entering the same room. And then the voice starts talking...
  • Heel Realization: Grymharl, who had so far justified her actions, is completely shaken after the vision of dealing with the parents of the child she killed in Episode 1.
  • Horsemen of the Apocalypse: The Pumpkin King appears to be friends with an intimidating, black-robed, scythe-wielding horseman, invoking the imagery of Death the Pale Rider.
  • Mirror Match: The "Pumpkin King's" game, in which the party "faces their fears", is fighting copies of themselves.
  • Ominous Music Box Tune: It's the ambient music that plays when the entity reveals his "Pumpkin King" form.
  • Psychological Torment Zone: The town continues to be this, with Grymharl having to face the parents of the child she killed while separated from the group, Ray dealing with a vision of his boyfriend when trying to follow her, and so on.
  • Pumpkin Person: The being that's been messing with the party (who, according to Kapnos' note that first informed him of the town, calls itself "The Pumpkin King") takes this form when deciding to meet them face-to-face.
  • Schmuck Bait: When Calamity checks to see if they can actually interact with the ghost town, she decides to try a random door knob, and has to pass a sanity check. It works, but when asked if she would like to see what's behind the door, her player decides not to risk it. Later, when Grymharl opens the door to the church and immediately enters (believing it to be safe because it has a symbol of her god), it slams shut behind her, separating her from the others.
  • Torture Is Ineffective: Out of everyone, Calamity is the least phased by the visions the party experiences within the church, thanks to a mixture of her natural fascination of the morbid and deciding that anything that could happen after the psychological torment she just went through will pale in comparison.
  • Wham Line: The situation in the village changes from "suspenseful dread" to "outright antagonism" when Calamity suggests rolling one of Ray's dice to determine where they will search, with each of the five party members claiming a number, and a disembodied voice suddenly says "Ooh, I'll take 6!"
  • Winds Are Ghosts: There are occasional ominous breezes throughout the ghost town, which seem to pick up when the party tries addressing whatever supernatural entity is messing with them.
  • Your Mind Makes It Real: While trapped in visions within the church, Wihikayda feels herself withering away and Kapnos takes a near-fatal wound, but their health snaps back to their earlier values when returning to reality.
