Recap / The Real Ghostbusters S 5 E 19 Revenge Of The Ghostmaster

Go To

The Ghostmaster shows up, and is about to get mugged by three punks, but he throws them into a dumpster with his supernatural bubbles. He then sends out a bolt which strikes the firehouse. The next morning, Slimer finds that his alarm clock isn't working (so he overslept) and when he goes to brush his teeth, the light and faucets don't work either. As he leaves, they start working again, and he goes to the rec room to watch TV, but the TV doesn't work either. He leaves, making the television turn on, then he wakes up the guys to tell them that "everything is broken".

Egon and Winston check the containment unit and find that it's working, but starts to malfunction if they approach it, yet repairs itself when they walk away. Ecto-1, the proton packs, and the phone aren't working either, so Peter goes out to look for a payphone, but the vehicles outside stop working too. Then, the TV turns back on, and the Ghostmaster appears, admitting that he put a curse on the Ghostbusters and Slimer and that's why things near them break. He then adds that he plans to take them to the Netherworld and make them his servants.

The Ghostbusters leave, as the Ghostmaster sends bubbles into the firehouse. The Ghostbusters hide in a bike shop and then dash past the Ghostmaster on roller skates (Peter and Winston) and bikes (Egon and Ray). They split off into pairs, and the Ghostmaster chases after Peter and Winston, allowing Egon and Ray time to research the situation. Slimer slimes the Ghostmaster, allowing Peter and Winston to get away. Slimer then learns that the Ghostmaster is starting to lose his powers, but that one of the bubbles is flying towards Ray and Egon.

Egon and Ray read books they took out from the library, and they determine that the curse works like a force field and only works within a 40-foot radius. They also determine that if they could only trap the Ghostmaster, the curse would vanish, but that he's too powerful to trap. Slimer tells them about the Ghostmaster's powers weakening, which gives Ray an idea.

Peter and Winston get trapped in bubbles, which arrive at the library. Egon and Ray then trigger a makeshift device that leads the Ghostmaster to be trapped. This gets rid of the curse and the bubbles, then the guys go home. At home, the electricity cuts out, which they think is the Ghostmaster returning, but it turns out that Peter simply forgot to pay the electric bill.
