Recap / The Real Ghostbusters S 3 E 1 Baby Spookums

Go To

A dimensional crack opens near Times Square one night, and a little pink ghost comes out. It accidentally scares a cat, then a woman, then goes into a car. Two larger ghosts come through the crack and follow the car. Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters are asleep except for Egon (who's doing an experiment) and Peter (who was woken by Slimer). The phone rings, waking up Ray, and they answer the call.

They try to shoot the large ghosts, but miss, and then the car doesn't start. When Winston looks under the hood, he finds the little ghost in there. They try to shoot at it, but Slimer stops them. It is then revealed that it is a female ghost, and she is very young. Egon thinks that she is on the run from the other two ghosts, so they take her home and name her Spookums.

The Ghostbusters then leave to deal with the larger ghosts attacking a car wash, while Janine is left in charge of Spookums. When she knocks over some crates, Janine thinks Slimer did it and doesn't believe him when he tells her it was Spookums. Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters again fail to trap the two big ghosts and accidentally zap their car instead. Spookums scares Slimer, causing him to make a mess in the fridge, and Janine thinks he did it on purpose. Finally, the Ghostbusters manage to trap the big ghosts, but Slimer tells Spookums off, causing her to run away.

The Ghostbusters arrive home, but then Slimer determines from the way the trapped ghosts are wailing that they are the parents of Spookums, so they agree to release them. They let them out and Egon determines that they are from another dimension, which was opened by a lunar eclipse. Egon and Winston look for the dimensional crack, while Ray, Peter, Slimer, and the parents (borrowing Janine's car) search for Spookums.

Slimer finds her in an alley and (after Spookums kisses Slimer goodbye), they go through the crack as it's closing.
