Go To

April sneaks into Shredder's temporary hideout to find out what he's up to, but a freak accident involving a matter transporter and a stray cat causes her to slowly mutate into a catwoman. Seeing an opportunity, Shredder enslaves Catwoman April with a mind control collar to use against his greatest enemy, Splinter. The Turtles have to find a way to free April from her mind control before she makes a meal out of their master.

Tropes

  • Absurd Phobia: Splinter has a genuine fear of cats. Maybe its an instinctual thing, otherwise a 5 ft. mutant-rat ninja wouldn't have anything to fear from an ordinary stray cat.
  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: As a mutant, April's claws are sharp enough to rip a metal lock from solid concrete.
  • All for Nothing: The turtles had to climb up the fire escape, avoiding a tiger on the way, only to find Erma sitting comfortably in April's apartment because she had a key.
  • Animorphism: April slowly transforms into a humanoid cat after the incident.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Shredder uses a mind-control collar on April to make her a loyal soldier.
  • Fat and Proud: The episode starts with April covering a human-interest piece on the "Fat Cabbies Contest".
April: Tell us, what is the secret of your success?
Myron: Uh, chili-burgers and onions. Lots of onions.
    April: You said a mouthful.
  • Inconsistent Coloring: When Erma calls the turtles, Leonardo answers it. On the screen of April's communicator, it shows a turtle with a red mask (Raphael) even when he says he's Leonardo.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Rocksteady accidentally breaks Shredder's teleporter trying to swat a rat.
  • Oh, Crap!: Splinter, being a rat, panics when he sees a tiger in the lair, then when a brainwashed catwoman April breaks in moments later.
  • Shout-Out: When a bouncer at Woo's questions who they are, he sarcastically calling them "Humphrey Bogarts." Leo even does a Bogart impression to mock him. Mikey follows it up with an Al Capone impression because he can't do Bogart.
  • Spanner in the Works: There's a stray tabby that seems to exist only to trod over Shredder's control-panel. It winds up messing with Shredder's teleporter while April is on it, splicing its DNA with hers and turning her into a cat-mutant.
