Recap / Teen Titans Go The Night Begins To Shine 2

Go To

In the future, the elderly Teen Titans return to the neon world of B.E.R. for one last visit, but end up having to save it from a new threat.

  • Arc Villain: Ultralak, the black-armored villain attempting to erase B.E.R.'s final song.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Immediately after Robin saying that "We need some kind of miracle" to stop Ultralak in the final part, B.E.R. themselves descend from the heavens in order to fight back.
  • Emergency Transformation: Cyborg attempts to immediately take on Ultralak single-handedly and has his body literally torn apart, so he transfers his consciousness to a motorcycle.
  • Evil Former Friend: Ultralak's true identity is Neil Adams, the forgotten fourth member of B.E.R. (which would have made the band "B.E.A.R.", like how Beast Boy pronounces it), who wanted to use The Power of Rock to rule over the musical dimension rather than for helping its people.
  • Evil Wears Black: Ultralak constantly wears an all-black suit of armor.
  • Famous, Famous, Fictional: B.E.R. never had a fourth member named Neil Adams. He was made up for the special.
  • Fountain of Youth: Once they're in the musical world, all of the Teen Titans discover that they've transformed from geriatric old people back into teenagers dressed like 90's rock musicians.
Beast Boy: Whoa, how is this possible?
Cyborg: Music has the power to transform you!
  • Gotta Catch Them All: The middle three parts each focus on the Titans being tasked on collecting one stanza of the final song B.E.R. wrote, with the goal of putting them together and reassembling the music in order to defeat Ultralak.
  • I Choose to Stay: After defeating Ultralak in the final part, Robin states with some sadness that now they'll have to return home, but Cyborg replies with a confident "We are home".
  • Killed Offscreen: Sweet, the female Humongous Mecha summoned at the end of the original The Night Begins to Shine special, was destroyed by Ultralak and her body converted into a base for La RĂ©sistance that the Titans find immediately upon reentering the world of B.E.R.
  • La RĂ©sistance: The inside of the destroyed Sweet is the home of a bunch of knee-sized natives, who have reassembled the rest of the scrap into weapons to fight back against Ultralak's robot army.
  • Multi-Part Episode: In syndication, this is a five-part miniseries.
  • The Power of Rock: As before, the alternate universe is powered by B.E.R.'s incredible musical talent. Exemplified in the final part, where the original band just playing their music transforms Cyborg into their new fourth member, a giant mech able to fight Ultralak on equal footing.
  • Punny Name: The denizen of the music world that tells the Titans all of the backstory that took place between their previous visit and now is named Baxtory.
  • Sequel Episode: To the original Teen Titans Go The Night Begins To Shine four-part special.
  • Stripped to the Bone: This is Ultralak's fate after being blasted with the full force of The Power of Rock in the final part's climax.
