The inhabitants of the Shatterverse arrive at the Grim in order to rescue Sonic from Nine. However, the fox doesn't plan to go down without a fight (or go down at all), and unveils a massive army of robots. The final battle for the fate of the Shatterverse has just begun.
Tropes:
- Ambiguous Situation: Catfish asks Sonic and Dread "Who is this Catfish?" after he gets knocked on the head. It is unclear if this has given him amnesia and he doesn't know his own name, or if "Catfish" was never his real name at all.
- Anything but That!: At the end of the episode when Nine reveals he made a giant robot of Big, Sonic is in complete shock, saying "Not Big. Anyone but Big. How could you Nine?!" Though he seems more upset that his friend's image has been desecrated rather than the threat it possesses.
- Big Badass Battle Sequence: The entire episode is one big battle between the Shatterverse inhabitants and Nine's army of robots.
- Bottle Episode: This and the remaining episodes of the season take place entirely in the Grim Shatterspace, especially with the other worlds being destroyed.
- Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Nine creating a massive robot shaped like Big the Cat, which launches a Froggy-shaped missile at Sonic.
- Disney Death: Sails and Mangey are seemingly killed by an explosion of their own bomb in an attempt to protect Sonic from Nine's robots. Their bodies are conspiciously absent, though.
- Exact Words: When Nine asked Sonic if he intended for everyone to come and attack him, Sonic responded by saying that he’s also surprised, but finished it with who knew he had so many friends. Nine interpreted this as a confession that Sonic did indeed plan for them to show up and he quickly called the deal off.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing: When Nine sees that his robots are losing the battle, he claims that he needs to "think big". He then uses the Paradox Prism to build a massive robot shaped like Big the Cat.
- Humongous Mecha: In order to turn the tide of the battle, Nine creates a gigantic robot with the form of Big the Cat, which can launch Froggy-shaped missiles from its mouth.
- Nightmare Face: Nine makes one towards the end as the giant robotic Big emerges and he recovers from the Power-Strain Blackout he had while summoning it, highlighting the toll the Paradox Prism is exacting on his psyche.
- One-Steve Limit: While none of them are named "Tails", Nine, Sails, and Mangey all share his likeness. Nine attempts to fix that so only he exists.
- Skyward Scream: Sonic does this after witnessing Nine summon the giant Big.
- Suddenly Speaking: Catfish finally speaks for the first time, revealing he has a British accent, to the shock of Sonic and Dread.
- Taking the Bullet: Catfish takes a Spin Dash from one of the Grim Robot Sonics aimed at Sonic. Despite the initial scare, he's not seriously hurt.
- There Can Be Only One: Nine specifically targets Sails and Mangey since they are alternates of him.
