The Big Diff
When Angelica tells Tommy and Chuckie that they're too different from each other to be best friends, the two try unsuccessfully to be more like each other.
Final Eclipse
Tommy, Chuckie, and Susie go to a sci-fi movie convention with their fathers. While there, they must defeat an outer-space villain.
"The Big Diff" provides examples of:
- An Aesop: Best friends don't have to be exactly the same as each other to be best friends.
- Blind Without 'Em: Chuckie stops wearing his glasses so he can be more like Tommy. Without his glasses, Chuckie can't see very well, and when he and Tommy decide to go their separate ways, he accidentally says goodbye to Phil.
- Covering Up Your Gray: When Chas finds out about Stu's first gray hair, he comes over to Stu's house with a purple marker he can use its ink to dye the gray hair.
- Didn't Think This Through: When Angelica tells Tommy and Chuckie that they're too different to be best friends, the two try to dress and act like each other. However, because neither of them told the other, they still end up being different from each other.
- First Gray Hair: In this episode's B-plot, Stu freaks out when he discovers he has his first gray hair at the age of 33.
- Glasses Curiosity: In one of his attempts to dress and act like Chuckie, Tommy puts on Lou's glasses, which results in him seeing everything blurry, to the point where he mistakes Spike for Angelica.
- The Glasses Gotta Go: When Chuckie decides to be more like Tommy, he ditches his glasses since Tommy doesn't wear them. This backfires for two reasons. First, Tommy tries to dress and act more like Chuckie, which includes wearing Lou's glasses, and second, Chuckie can't see very well without his glasses, leading to him accidentally saying goodbye to Phil when he and Tommy go their separate ways.
- Going Commando: When Tommy tries to be more like Chuckie, he dresses in a blue shirt and green pants and takes off his diaper from inside the latter. When Tommy gets upset over him and Chuckie having to go their separate ways because they're too different (as Chuckie also tried dressing in a blue shirt and a diaper to be more like him), Stu tries to console him, only to discover that he doesn't have his diaper on and issue a code yellow.Angelica: Well, just goes to show you, you can take the baby out of the diaper, but you shouldn't.
- Hurt Foot Hop: When Chuckie decides to go his separate ways from Tommy, he accidentally steps on RoboSnail. Because he ditched his shoes to be more like Tommy, he ends up hurting his foot. As he hops around in pain while holding his foot, he stumbles back, causing his diaper to get caught on the leg of a toy cat, which pulls it off.
- Hypocrite: Angelica tries to trick Tommy and Chuckie into thinking that best friends have to be exactly the same and points out their differences and contrasts them with her similarities to Cynthia. When Chuckie points out that Angelica's a kid and Cynthia's a doll, Angelica tells Cynthia not to listen to Chuckie.
- Mythology Gag: Tommy becomes Dizzy when he puts on someone else's glasses, while Chuckie is unable to see very well without his, referencing "Chuckie Loses His Glasses" from the original 1991 series. This episode also features a scene where Tommy and Chuckie run towards each other when they can just barely see each other.
- Rain, Rain, Go Away: Angelica is not happy to have to spend the day at Tommy's house when it's raining outside.
- Stripping Snag: When Tommy and Chuckie decide to go their separate ways, Chuckie stumbles back and the diaper he's wearing gets caught on the leg of a toy cat, which pulls it off, leaving him naked from the waist down right in front of Susie and the twins.Phil: Rash-free.
Lil: Sweet! - Time Capsule: Stu and Chas buried one in Stu's backyard when they were kids, and Tommy and Chuckie dig it up at the end of the episode.
"Final Eclipse" provides examples of:
- Fan Convention: This episode takes place at the Final Eclipse convention.
- Not Where They Thought: When Tommy, Chuckie, and Susie are taken to the Final Eclipse convention, the babies believe that they are on an alien planet.
- Rope Bridge: The babies cross one when they chase after Lord Crater. Chuckie nearly falls off it, but Tommy and Susie save him.
