Harry continues his search for the alien baby. Having tracked him to the mine, he realizes he has taken on human form. Unable to locate him based on his shoe size, he recruits Max to help him find the child. The pair take advantage of each other, Harry making Max do chores to an unnecessary level as a cover while Max has no intention of actually looking for the Baby, having promised not to. He eventually learns Sahar is hiding the child and goes to get him but he runs and escapes into the woods.

Mike, Liv, and Lena investigates the medical records found in the back of the victim's car. When the ID of one of the goons turns up on the side of the road, Mike and Lena search the nearby forest. Liv asks Asta for help interviewing the relatives of deceased, hosting it at the clinic. The discover a connection to heavy metal poisoning.

David's search for the mole makes no progress but he suspects Dr. Ethan is human. General McCallister brings Ethan to a cliff to test him with fake alien technolgy. When he tries to bluff her with it she realizes he really is just human, gives him the real ball, and tests it by pushing him off the cliff. She has Ethan abandoned in the streets with drugs.

Asta talks to Dan about the man she killed. He consols her and explains that no matter how bad the person is or that it was to save lives, it is still a good thing she feels guilty about it and shares the burden with her.

Tropes

  • Beak Attack: Birds attack Harry after his call confuses them. Based on his face after he escapes by pecked him.
  • Big Eater: Asta jokes that Harry is responsible for half the diner's sales.
  • Blatant Lies: Max denies he said “him” when talking about the baby, claiming he said “shepherd's pie.” Harry points out what a bad lie that is.
  • Commonality Connection: Asta and Liv discover the deceased patients all spent time at Hawthorne creek and had similar rashes on their hands or feet. They conclude the cause is heavy metal poison in the creek.
  • Couch Gag: The IKEA-like instructions stat the appropriate response to a bird pooping on your shirt is to clean it, not getting revenge by pooping on the bird nest. Fitting given Harry's threat of teaching Baby to poop on Sahar.
  • Dramatic Irony: While trying to find clues on who the mole is by watching the security feed, David spots a guard press a prisoner against the wall. General McCallister says it's nothing. The guard then telepathically tells the prisoner to keep his mouth shut if he wants to live.
  • Easily Forgiven: Sahar forgives Max for telling Harry where Baby was as she says friends forgive friends for mistakes.
  • Hard-Work Montage: Max suggests doing chores for Harry as a cover for why he is paying him. We are shown several scenes of him working around Harry's house, including acting like a butler and a foot stool.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Max tells his mother she should turn down her workout music as loud sounds are bad for her ears before he starts banging on his drums again.
  • I Never Said It Was Poison: Max lets slip the baby is a “him” when Harry asks if a passing girl is the baby. He questions how he knew the child is a boy and Max lets slip that Sahar is involved.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • David and General McCallister realize Dr. Ethan really is human.
    • Harry informs Asta the real reason his people won't be coming back to Earth.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Sahar calls Harry an evil alien and he points out she is the one stealing babies.
  • Just Whistle: Harry can control dogs by making a sound only they can hear. Unfortunately it also causes birds to attack him.
  • Let Him Choose: Harry and Sahar both call Baby over to them. Harry hurts his case by threatening the child with the ice wind desert he can't do anyway and Baby ends up bolting.
  • Look Both Ways: Sahar tells Baby to look both ways before crossing the street but he is hit by D'Arcy's jeep. Subverted as this only stuns him for a moment and he takes off.
  • Normally, I Would Be Dead Now: General McCallister tests the alien ball by giving it to Dr. Ethan and pushing him off a cliff. He questions how he is still alive.
  • Oh, Crap!: Harry realizes the sound he made to drive off the police dogs is causing the birds to attack him.
  • One Drink Will Kill the Baby: Lampshaded. Kate reminds Ben she can't have coffee. After discovering she isn't really pregnant she talks about all the stuff she doesn't have to give up now.
  • Pregnancy Scare: Kate double checks with a blood test and finds she isn't actually pregnant. She and Ben are ultimately relieved they don't have another kid on the way.
  • The Scapegoat: When Kate confronts Harry about Max working for him, he lies and says Max told him she was aware of it.
  • Spotting the Thread: Inverted. David figures out Ethan is human after watching him display human coping mechanisms and weird stuff keeps happening in Patience, suspecting the alien is still there.
  • Toilet Training Plot: Sahar struggles to teach Baby how to use the bathroom and eventually puts him in a diaper.
  • Unfortunate Search Results: When Harry searches the internet for people with small feet he gets so many emails of naked people, his computer stopped working.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Sahar intentionally keeps Baby away from Harry, unaware that she is further delaying him from finding out who is trying to take over the world.
