Tropes in this episode include:

  • Badass Boast: Jason delivers one to Prince Gasket after his plans are foiled:
"You mess with one Ranger, you better be willing to take on the whole team!"
  • Badass Normal: Bulk and Skull fend off the Cogs, the mooks that the Rangers prefer to fight while morphed.
  • Badass Unintentional: Despite lacking the skill that the Rangers have, Bulk and Skull manage to fight off a group of Cogs fairly well.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Tritor, Bulk and Skull help save the day when they destroy Gasket's forcefield and help the Rangers escape.
  • Big "NO!":
    • Tommy when he pushes the Rangers away as he gets conflicted over whether to break out of Gasket's brainwashing.
    • Rita's reaction to the Machine Empire being poised to takeover Earth once the Rangers are out of the way.
    • Gasket when Tommy finally breaks out of his brainwashing.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Tommy. Again.
  • Can't Believe I Said That: Zedd states it literally "hurts" to have to spit out how they need to help the Power Rangers.
  • Cassandra Truth: Bulk and Skull try to convince everyone that they saved the Rangers and are regarded as legends on an alien world. No one except for the Rangers themselves believe them, but Bulk and Skull think they're being mocked further, even though the Rangers do believe them.
  • Cooldown Hug: Kat gives Tommy one after she demorphs to snap him out of his trance.
  • Criminal Amnesiac: Tommy. Again.
  • Death by Irony: Archerina rather likes the idea of the Rangers being eliminated by their Brainwashed and Crazy leader.
  • Didn't Think This Through: The Rangers powered down in order to get through to Tommy. Unfortunately, when they were surrounded by the enemy, Gasket's force field prevented them from transforming back. As he pointed out, they made a big mistake in demorphing.
  • Dramatic Irony: The Rangers remain unaware that Zedd's group was responsible for the transporter beam that got most of the team to the arena.
  • Evil Is Hammy: Tommy acts just as hammy as he did back when he was the evil Green Ranger after being brainwashed to believe he's the king of the Machine Empire.
  • Evil Laugh: Tommy gets his back after being brainwashed.
  • Fainting: Rita in response to Zedd saying the only solution is to help the Rangers. Rito has to catch her.
  • Foreshadowing: Zedd warns that it will be their turn again soon.
  • Glad I Thought of It: With the group brainstorming how use the Rangers to beat Gasket, Finster suggests using their equipment to teleport the rest of the team to the arena.
Lord Zedd: So, I use the Power Rangers to destroy my enemies? I like that idea, Finster. I like it a lot. I'm glad I thought of it!
  • Godzilla Threshold: "We have to help the Power Rangers!"
  • "I Know You Are in There Somewhere" Fight: Brainwashed Tommy vs. the other Rangers.
  • It's Personal: Tritor wants to exact revenge for what Gasket did to his planet.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Zedd and crew are willing to help the Rangers against the Machine Empire now in order to have the chance to conquer Earth themselves later.
  • Spanner in the Works: Gasket was this close to getting rid of the Rangers, but thanks to Bulk and Skull's actions, they were able to teleport to safety.
  • Tactical Withdrawal: Faced with an army's worth of monsters in the arena, Tanya calls for this after the force field is deactivated.
  • That Came Out Wrong: Tritor says he's sorry to hear that Bulk and Skull come from Earth. When they take offense to that, he says he's sorry because Gasket is poised to conquer Earth.
  • This Cannot Be!: Gasket yells "It can't be!" after he realizes that Bulk and Skull has destroyed his forcefield.
  • Villain Ball: Rather than simply order his troops to attack the de-morphed Rangers, Gasket takes the opportunity to gloat about the force field blocking their powers and mock them for their mistake. By the time he's ready to order the attack, though, the force field is deactivated, allowing the Rangers to escape.
  • We Will Meet Again: Tommy tells Gasket that they will meet again when they are about to leave the arena after Gasket's forcefield is disintegrated.
  • You Fool!: Zedd and Rita are depressed over how they won't benefit at all from Gasket's plot, but Rito doesn't get it.
    Rito: I don't get it. What's wrong?
Zedd: You fool! We'll have nothing! After all those years of work, we'll still be stick on this rock, while those machines take over our planet!
