  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Delphine presses Rachel's eye hole through her bandages to make her cooperate.

  • Heroic BSoD: Delphine being forced into Rachel’s job right when such a role will require considerable maneuvering to keep the people she loves alive clearly breaks her. When she returns from Germany she avoids Cosima as long as possible, and when she finally does see her she’s stammering, quiet, and sounds near tears even when asking simple questions. And then she has to break herself even further by ending her relationship with Cosima and putting up a Jerkass Façade.

  • Hyper-Awareness: Ferdinand.
  • Kick the Dog: Literally. Seth kicks over Mrs. S's chair while she's tied to it because she didn't give him the answer he wanted.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: Ferdinand gropes Alison disguised as Sarah.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Delphine and Sarah (disguised as Rachel) have this when Ferdinand states he wants to interview Sarah Manning.
    • When Ferdinand tells Sarah about his killing of clones and his plan to have Alison and her family assassinated.
  • 10-Minute Retirement:
    • Delphine comes back from Germany at the start of the episode.
      • Justified, since she was only in Germany due to Rachel’s cruelty, and Rachel is no longer in charge.
    • Ten second retirement in Scott's case. He tells Cosima he wants out, but after just a glimpse at Dr. Duncan's book, he's back working with her.
  • The Reveal: Rachel had been working with Ferdinand to eliminate the other clones and the two of them were lovers.
  • Talking Animal: The scorpion, a figment of Helena's imagination.
  • Time Skip: This episode starts a few weeks after the last episode.
  • Translated Cover Version: Helena's baby-shower dream is set to The Beach Boys' "Wouldn't It Be Nice" - sung in Ukrainian.
  • Twin Switch: Sarah impersonates Rachel, while Alison impersonates Sarah, for the meeting with Ferdinand.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Sarah is furious when she learns that Mrs. S sold Helena to Paul.
